Very interesting. Just had a car leave here that was built exactly like my RS with the exception of the 20G turbo. We used a regular TME turbo on it. Ported coated exhaust parts, 10.5 housing etc.

This car had the absolute worste surge I have ever felt in any car. Until around 5,000 rpm in any gear, if you started at low RPM the car would surge and buck violently. The turbo just spooled too damn fast. This was an unclipped TME. Spool up was crazy fast, too fast obviously from the amount of surge.

This is the first time I have experienced surging this bad with a "stock" style turbo. It makes the surging from the 20g-8 seem like a non-issue.

Very crazy.

20g

David,

Have you tried the new actuator yet? When will the new 9-20g be ready? Any ideas?

I have not ruzs, I overnighted it out to the company to make it. I am hoping it is back here tomorrow but I haven't heard anything yet. I am very anxious though.

An EBC could possibly solve the surging problem if what you want to do is slow down spool up. That's what the "gain" control affects.

David, this may be a stupid question but are you going to be offering the TME titanium aluminide shaft and wheel as an option for the IX 20G they way you offered it for the VIII 20G?

Placed my order in today for the IX 20g! I will post up a mods list with a dyno chart and such when it comes in and is installed. I have been following this thread for quite some time now, and I appreciate all the work you guys over at Buschur have done to find every possible way of squeezing power out of the Evolution. Thanks again, and thumbs up.

Cool. I'm joining this thread to find out what you guys have to say about the IX 20G. Hopefully we will see good results.

The actuator came in and my car is back together and ready for the dyno. I'd planned to do it yesterday but was busy all day on customer cars. I should be able to get the EVO on the dyno today.

Yes, we will offer the 20g-9 with the ti/al wheel in it eventually. Right now I am just trying to get turbos!!
