ok david, what will make more power, your 20g-8 or the atp 3071 turbo kit? i will be doing one in the future but not sure what i want to do yet. the surging for the 20g-8 concerns me a little but other than that its cheaper, i can use my downpipe and o2 housing that i have on now. so i want as close to 400whp on a dynojet as possible and i know both are capable of making that. i know this is a stupid question asking but i want to know what u think in comparison .

The car is not making a very steady/consistent 330 whp on straight 94 octane. This puts the car in the same 11.3 at 120 mph speed range but on normal pump gas.

On race gas, as you guys have seen, the car made 379 whp and 396 ft lbs on our MD AWD dyno. This should be more than enough, with the right driver, to drop the car well into the 10's and have trap speeds in the 127 mph range. (Best mph at 330 whp has been 124 mph to date)
what kind of power and performance would your car see with pump and alky?

A GT3071 graph vs. the 20G-9 is posted earlier in this thread. The GT3071 was on pump/alky at 27 psi vs. the 20g-9 on straight pump gas.

As for how much my car could make on pump/alky, I would say somewhere between the pump and race gas numbers I have posted so far.

NEW NEWS on pricing.

The turbos are out about 6-8 weeks still. None have been built by Mitsubishi yet, that is the delay.

Pricing I have good news on. The 20G-9 will be $1350. For someone that already owns an EVO9 this will be a direct bolt on and you will need nothing additional, I can use your core to build the turbo right now and it will cost only $800 for the upgrade.

Now before I had an installation kit price too. Good news is this has dropped which I had hoped it would.

If you own an EVO8 and are planning on installing the 20G-9 (EVO9 style 20G) this is what you will need:

Installation kit $140. This will include everything to install the turbo including a new lower i/c pipe.

The high boost actuator if you want to buy it will be $175 additional NO core required when buying the 20G-9 from us new.

New lower IC pipe? Uh oh... wonder if it plays nice with the many aftermarket IC pipe kits out there... bummer.

Outstanding work David I am cetain you will sell many of the 20g-9's.

I really enjoy seeing the power compares. Now that the thread is +30 pages, is it possible to post the power compares within the original post?

It will give everyone a single location to quickly review your graphical results for people who dont have the time/oppurtunity to follow a thread day by day.

I understand the need for a thread to progress, but to review graphs that have been posted becomes difficult once your threads have grown in size, like this thread!

Have you already posted a power compare of a oem evo8 vs a most recent 20g-8 or 9?

Once again, great work on producing some awesome power!

David Your Opinion...

Dave, take a look at these dyno's graphs stock vs. megan...what do you think?

Dynoed on Dynojet AWD Dyno.

My Mod's: Air Filter, 3" exhaust w/ no cat, using stock O2 & downpipe, HKS 264/272 cams.

Please Note:

The boost with stock manifold went straight to 20psi then fell to 19psi

With the megan installed i noticed the boost needle fluctuating/bouncing between 19-20 psi to 6000rpm then fell to 18/19psi at redline. Maybe too much back pressure (stock O2 & d/pipe, or filter needs cleaning??)

So Dave, what do you think?

LOL...yep...we have the choice between 87 or 90 octane here. Some say it's equivalent to 91 octane in the US, but who knows.
