I agree once 3071s get to be a popular upgrade then we will start seeing some great pump gas #s. Problem is most people have to make a mistake by finding out their recently purchased 3076 or 35R arent what they were actually looking for. Those big race gas #s sure looked good but the pump gas lag and not using race gas nearly as much as they thought make for low power pump car, and an unhappy owner that really wanted a 3071 but was tempted by a same priced 35R.

You people are funny. I have posted my dyno chart on 100 vs. a Vishnu stage 1+ numerous times. My car has stock cams and a HFC. The stage 1+ has TME, cams, and test pipe. Maybe this isn't what you're looking for, but here it is anyways:

I don't disagree with your statement, but lets put this into perspective.. Your talking about an entire turbo upgrade, with a cost 2-3 times what this turbo costs. And some of us don't judge stellar performance by nailing the throttle in a straight line. So I consider other things to be more important, ease of installation, stealthiness, drivability, **SERVICABILITY**.. The one day one of you guys has a problem and is stuck without parts, you'll understand why interchange is so important, even if its temporary.

Lets look at what this turbo is:

- An upgrade to stock, that sacrifices very little spool
- Torque and HP gains are nominal, but its area under the curve are extended significantly
- Bolt-on swap (With or without BPU mods to take advantage of it)
- Cost effective compared to other options
- Good performer on alky
- Stealthy (probably would even fool a dealer mechanic)
- As drivable as stock

You make very little sacrifices to make gains, whether their 20hp or 100hp, thats not important, but the car feels better and is more fun to drive.

Personally, I would hate to watch the clock waiting for a turbo to spool, for me, if I went with an aftermarket turbo upgrade (Complete kit) It would be a 3071 or a 3076 and a 2.3/2.4 stroker engine.. This would likely feel pretty good to me. But its WAY more expensive than an $800/$1500 upgrade..

And I wouldn't be surprised to see one of these "Properly tuned" and properly driven cars crack a 10 second quarter.. You see all these big turbo guys talk about their dyno numbers, but very few are posting 10 second timesheets..

Perspective guys... Perspective.... What good is a giant shlong if its flaccid until the deed is almost done?

Very nice. Since you are from Cincinnati, I say you put the turbo to the test where it really counts, at the track. Tri State is open tomorrow (Thursday), Trap speed will tell all regarding real world HP.

If you look at Turbotrix "case study" you will see a stock 03 turbo about the some mods less aem put down about the some hp #'s . But the WR holds 400hp for 2000rpms and the stocker holds 400hp for 500 rpms and it lost 20hp at redline .
How much do you think 15-20 hp from 5500-7500rpms is worth in trap speed ? 1-2 mph or less ?

yes, but every stock setup doesn't do that. Different car, different tune, different mods, different dyno.....

and that power difference is probably worth 1-2mph in the traps.

What's the point of comparing tunes that can only boost to somewhere between 21 and 24 psi (i.e. pump gas), when it has been clearly stated that the WR clearly differentiates itself in a high boost/high rpm application? Sure, the WR will be slightly better on pump, but as we have seen from various posted charts and results, it's not until you step up to racegas or alky/meth that it trounces the stock turbo.

Thank you.

If you're looking for BIG power numbers, this turbo is not a budget GT35R...not even close.

One doesn't have to look further than the specs and basic dyno numbers to conclude that the WR should not be expected to give a significant peak power increase above what is capable with the stock unit. What it will do is keep the power curve going a little longer than the stock unit without compromising low power driveability. The peak numbers in the original post can be matched with the stock turbo and no standalone. The difference is in the average power, not peak. If you can read a dyno chart, you can see this. Unfortunately, half the people who post here can't even spell correctly, much less properly interpret a dyno chart.

For the sake of comparison, there's no reason to make it any more complicated than that.

LOL!

But really, you can't accurately quantify the average power gains without a back to back comparo of the stocker to the WR. Yes it looks like the power curve is much more flat, but I think the doubters just want a reasonable quantifiable figure.

why is this always about power? if you want higher power numbers why don't you take off the intake and dyno on a colder day? but is that meaningful? not really... was it a mistake to publish numbers like that on the wr? probably...

this turbo isn't about power... it's about response, boost up, holding boost to redline and making very quick laptimes and by laptimes i mean laps ARound a track... not down the track.
