GT3071R vs. GT3076R

Trinydex and Brianb.

You two brothers bring out some interesting points about the two turbo kits I'm narrowed down to - the GT3071R and GT3076R. Reading what the two of you have posted nudges me further between the two set-ups. I've solicited options around the forum and I'd enjoy adding each of your knowledge to the mix. I can email a "tenative" upgrade plan if you'd like to view it (critique it). Basically, I'm looking for the nicest 375-425whp and 375-425wtp set-up with the "occassional blue moon" visit to the track. I want to stay loyal to using only Buschur Racing products. This is a wonderful thread and I'm trying to make the right decisions so I won't find myself in the area of "if I could do it all over again".

If anyone else is interested, I'd more than welcome your comments, advice, critiques.

Two questions:
Are you saying that you want 375-425 wheel torque (e.g. "wtp")?
What is your definition of "track" (e.g. 1320 vs road race)?

After my experience with two flavors of 3071, I find it a hard turbo to recommend. Between the 3071 and 3076, I'd recommend the 3076-12 at this point in time.

FWIW, I have yet to see one instance whereby a 3071R convinced me that it is a justifiable expense. With cheaper upgrades such as Buschur's 20G-9-5, the 3071R just doesn't seem to do anything better (or even as well) that supports the comparatively large price of admission.

Stole the words out of my mouth. I got the vishnu stage 2 kit before I did any suspension, now I have Bilstein PSS9s.

If I were to do it over again I would have gotten more aggressive Ohlins then eventually the turbo kit

Ludikraut.

#1 - Yes. My intentions are to have the stated torque levels available on my street set-up.

#2 - The "track" that I'm referring to is the 1320

Ted B.

I see that you're advocating either the BR 20G-9 or the GT3076R of my stated candidates and totally bypass the GT3071R.

I'm starting to see the light brothers.

the other thing is i never really recommended the 3071 perse... but mainly wanted to point out that on pump gas anything more than a 3071 is gonna give you lag without reaching the full potential of a bigger wheel.

Number 2 answers your turbo question, but I couldn't resist saying the others.

Ah yes, if I could do it all over again.

Lets see!

1. I would get an RS "USED" and gut the crap out of it.

2. I would bypass the 20G-9 and get Buschur to fabricate a 42r kit.

3. I would not get a walboro 255. I would get a much bigger pump and better fuel system.

4. I would not get an Exedy triple carbon 6 months before I planned on doing the stroker motor.

5. I would not get the HKS 280 cams again. I would go with Revolver cams+built head.

6. I would get Shep to do the tranny from day 1.

7. I would run a coil on plug ignition instead of the HKS DLI 2.

8. I would get the tial bov instead of the 1G bov.

9. I would run a set of secondary injectors or just bigger than 1000cc.

...and last but not least!!!

10. I would just buy a used EVO IX and get a new cam, TBE exhaust, methanol injection, and a custom flash. Use the rest of the money to put down on a house!
