Ive put almost 200,000 miles on my Cummings dodge ram with no problems with the turbo
Your truck also has 10+ quarts of oil.

On my old EVO, I had a GT3076 turbo (water & oil) and a RX6 turbo (oil only) and there is a huge difference in the oil quality after 3000 miles. The RX6 oil was just burnt and black.

Water cooling may not be needed for a turbo in our cars, but it's just a little extra added insurance. It really just comes down to preference and how long you will be using that turbo or how often you will be changing out turbos.

There are advantages and disadvantages either way. It's up to the particular person and his/her setup that will dictate the right or wrong answer.

Comparing ANY other application to an Evo is assinine... apples and oranges. Might as well say there is no difference in cooling between a GN, Evo, and Cummings (Dodge TRUCK!)... Geeze!

As for comparing it to a DSM (because they have the "same" engine as an Evo), hell, I confuse those with Evos coming down the road all the time. I bet they get the exact amount of air through the front end as they are aerodynamically identical now aren't they?

Now I'm not kicking David in the ***** on this at all! For his usual applications, I'm sure deleting the water jacket on a turbo serves him just fine. Matter of fact, David is absolutely my favorite Evo/DSM go fast guy. Period! I highly respect the others, but all in all, David is the man with the track record(s). However all you people posting your opinions based on what X car or truck does is ridiculous!!!

Again, misinformation abound!

Wasn't David just starting to put this kit together this week? As in the fabrication car(s) were to show up this week? If David even likes the kit, I'd think it would take a few weeks to order up the turbos for the kit... etc, and so forth.

subscribed. so, dave, it seems everyones concerned about water cooling as far as road racing's concerned(obviously, a 10 second blast down the quarter isn't quite the stress), what are your thoughts?
