As a rough rule of thumb, you can say that 1 lb/min = 10 HP.

in this case, i think 1 lb/min = 8.6 hp....a 50 trim maxes out at around 500 whp (dynojet #'s)

While we're seeing more and more people get closer to 500whp on a somewhat more consistent basis than before, using the word "easily" is still a bit optimistic.

Yes, a normal 50 trim flows about 49-50 lb/min max.

Dave said that this 50 trim flows 58 lb/min. Just going off the data that Dave is telling us....no compressor maps have or will be provided, I'm sure.

In that case, if it really does flow 58 lb/min then maybe 475whp on his mustang is a possibility, we could be talking about a 50 trim kit that flows more, makes more power, and costs a hell of a lot less than the other kits, this kit would seriously put the others to shame and fly off the shelves. But in my opinion, it is way to early to make such assumptions. But I am very interested to see the results.

I probably should know this, but are STOCK turbos Water cooled? I know they are NON-Ballbearing.(As is my TME I believe) I track mine LOTS: autox/road courses/and drags, so you raise an interesting point EVO8LTW!

I had a regular based, redular 50 trim kit on a car, which I later sold to my friend and it was great. no problems and crazy hp. I also had the FP-green . . . I didn't feel much of a difference but like how simple evrything was for the 50trim; install, killing off water/coolant lines, ect. I believe one guy put down 500whp on pump no meth, so I would love to see somthing like that on the evo

what all is done to the cars that you have seen it on?

Read my later post, a couple of posts above yours.

But most 50 trims are maxed out around 500whp this is with race gas or pump/meth combo and all the supporting mods.

But if Buschur's kit does make 475whp on his dyno at a cost of around $2,000 you may see on of the largest demands for a turbo kit ever for EVO, especially for EVO owners that like to drag/street race. But it's to early to jump to such conclusions.

this turbo should put down more than the 20g LT, which on dave's car put down 451whp. I have pretty much the same setup as dave has on his car, except for the 2.3 stroker. so 450-475whp shouldn't be too hard, but you are right, it will probably be closer to the 450.

should find out in a couple weeks.

Since I am still "wet" behind the ears with turbo-kits, can I unbolt my manifold/turbo/wastegate on the car now (to sell), and just assemble your kit and slap it on? Or do I need parts of my current setup?

Yes you can, but if you do it may require custom work. If you know someone who can weld you can easily slap a kit together, if you dont it is best to get a kit that is bolt on.

Thanks mchuang, I was looking at just removing my turbo/manifold/and all the attachments, to sell it, and just put the new "kit" on my car without needing to scavenge parts off my stock setup, that would be harder for me to sell.
