I'm glad BR is 3 hours ahead of me here on the west coast; that means less waiting for me .

What if he comes back like "the turbo sucks, it didn't work, C YA!" haha

Well guys, this thread has now had over 20,000 views. So I can see there is an absolutely HUGE interest in this turbo kit.

For all the douche bags that think I am here for nothing but to take money no matter how the product works, this will once again be proof that isn't the case. So mark it on your calendars.

Now for the bad news. Shaun's car is fully built by us. It has our stroker in it, Stage 3 head, Revolver cams etc. The car runs 93 octane and alcohol. When we initially did the build on the car it made 368 whp and 412 ft lbs of torque using our 20g-9-5. This was done at 26 psi of boost.

Today we finally got the car on the dyno with the new turbo combination. The kit is extremely nice, fit great, looks great, super quiet with the internal gate. That's where the good ends.

First problem I ran into is the internal wastegate will not control the boost. I was getting creep up to 27 psi by 7,000 rpm. I changed boost controllers etc. Also as I was tuning it I noticed I had to take a LOT of fuel out of the existing map, which is never a good sign as it means the engine is making less fuel and we all know fuel and air mean horsepower. I did tune the car on straight 93 octane and dealt with the boost creep. The tune was surprisingly good and there was no knock. Power ended up in the 320's, torque in the 200's.

I figured at this point I didn't care. The car had an alky kit on it so when I turned it on I could get the boost to hit faster and then just make a ton of power with it. So I turned the alky on and started tuning it.

With boost set at 27 psi, which it made at 4200 rpm, the car was still basically a turd. 368 whp and 310 ft lbs of torque. So it's down 100 ft lbs of torque from being laggier and the power is only equal to what it was with another pound of boost and more timing than it had.

Not too happy.

Rather than abort this project I have ordered a new turbo. It will be here the middle of next week. I will be able to bolt this right on to this kit. When it gets here it is priority for us to re-test this kit. I'd really like to offer something like this.

Sorry about the outcome, we were as excited as you guys.

Any idea on what went wrong? Thanks for always being honest about the outcomes though!

BTW, is the new turbo going to be a different turbo, or the same turbo, just a new one incase the one tested was bad?

Well what are you going to do!? Im sure you felt a tad rushed but there are so many other great turbos in the DB arsenal, get back at it and try again. Hell if it was done right the first time it wouldnt burn when I pee, and that tranny that slipped me a roofy in mexico wouldnt have stole my wallet (j/k of course). But we all have to get up and try again. Cheers cant wait for the next turbo.

I am trying again. I have a new internally gated turbo coming next week. Should work correctly as it is a proven unit.
