Actually, that doesn't answer our (or at least my) questions... we're wondering about this exact turbo (ET 50trim, non-BB, non-water cooled) with an external gate... but it doesn't matter now since he has no plans of continuing on with that specific turbo.

Now the question is what's the deal with the BB 50trim kit. I personnaly haven't heard anything about this one other than they are selling them. It's not listed on the site either. Mr. Buschur, any info on it?

The new turbo.......let's see how can I try and make this make sense, probably can't..........haha

This turbo was not a real 50 trim. As I said somewhere in the last 22 pages, this turbo was an ET50Trim. The ET stood for extended tip. So while the trim size ended up being a 50 trim it was marketed to me to outflow any other 50 trim available. I can't remember exactly but I think they said 56 lb/mn. That's why I tried it in the first place.

So now I wanted to find another turbo that would flow about the same as this one and that is what I have ordered. So the new turbo I am going to use, I am hoping, is going to make the power this one was suppose to.

I am NOT going to run this ET50 trim with an external gate, it will do NOTHING to help this turbo situation.

If you are truly interested in an externally gated 50 trim we have them, Tial 44 mm gates etc. I have 5 BB 50 trims coming in anyday.

As for the 200 tq, it was actually around 280 ft lbs, still way off from 412 with the 20g-9-5.

The 50 trim BB kits are not on the site, sorry, Jarrod's working on it.

The other BB turbo kits on our site are exactly what the 50 trim kit looks like, $2995.

Damn this is a letdown. I was really hoping for a turbo that flowed this much and was internally gated that i could hide behind a stock heat sheild.

also dave what kindof manifold is used here i really would like a rusty one.

Was this turbo a Borg Warner/Schwitzer S256? I've seen a lot of hype about that new turbo online for DSM and Evo applications and am just wondering if this is the same turbo. Looks similar in the picture with the 4" inlet, the size of the turbo, the logo on the turbo, etc., and the flow ratings your quoting are close to the S256:

yea, it sucks about the turbo, but dave has a few more ideas up his sleeve. if for some reason this next turbo should fail, i most likely will have them change my current 20g to an LT and leave it at that. i the 20g LT would be killer on a stroker! we will just have to wait and see how this next one turns out.

This is probably a stupid question, but did you guys do a boost leak test before aborting? cuz I know you guys build really decent downpipes, and usually a wastegate that cant controll the boost taper really bad. I don't want this to end I want a near 60 lb/min quick spooling turbo!!!

Hey Dave, I agree with you 100% on everything except your use of an internal gate, I always see the external gate as the best option for boost control, faster spoolup, and more reliable.

The problem is you can't make a $2000 turbo kit with and external gate.
