Ill try to post up a few pics tonight if I can find a camera. I finished the steering completely aside from bolting up the wheel. I decided I wanted to use the stock wheel so I need to machine it down and get it to bolt up to my quick release. The front end is completely done now. I mocked up the motor mounts but want to double check all my clearances before I weld them in. Im going to see if I can find a bender to bend up a few 3/4" tubes for the front end body mount stuff tonight and finally say all the tubes are done I also got the new master cylinder mounted which is reversed so its mounted under the floor instead of the firewall. Took me a while to design it correctly so the pedal ratios stay correct for no brake booster and what not and still be able to remove the pedal if needed but its done so Im happy.

Just a few more loose ends to tie up before I get it into the paint booth! Still no word on the rear end but hopefully next week it will get here. Once it gets here Ill try to weld up some sort of an intake manifold and find some turbo... Dont have the good parts yet so Ill probably just get it running with a 16G or something but I wanna get it driving soon. If anyone got a spare turbo of somekind and wanna send it over for me to borrow Ill put it to good use for a month or so Havent weighed it in awhile but I can still pick up the front or rear by myself without the engine in it so it cant weigh too much yet

First of all, Great thread, great project and wonderful game plan.
For those who don't think its still an evo.....get your heads out of your arsses and give this guy a break. The focus should be that when he finally did make a project out of going fast, he did it RIGHT!

You boys have some nice toys (plasma, tig etc) I often dream of doing that exact same thing but don't have the time or resources to attemt something like this so I will have to settle for watching youre project evolve. Good luck and keep us updated.

This is not the only 25.1e evo that has been built . Great chassis job but you should have kept it AWD

To run 7's or below, what kind of engine modifications do you plan on running? Welded block? Dry deck head? The engine may be a little pricey. Forgive if you have already stated this info earlier in the thread, it is getting very long!

The more I do the more I realize there is more to do... it almost seems never ending but it is getting near I hope.

Minus some more front end tubing and the body mounts everything else is pretty much done chassis wise. I had to redo part of the brake system for the residual pressure valves and the porportioning valve to be in the right place but thats done. I also had to make a pedal stop as there is nothing that keeps the brake rod in the master cylinder. The engine mounts andtrans mounts are all done. I used a tube that I bent up to be what looks sorta like a strut tower brace tying both sides of the front end together as well as supporting the front of the engine. I sleeved it so it is easily removable as well as the entire front end tube structure so I can hopefully just end up unbolting a few things and remove the entire front sub structure that will hold the fuel cell, radiator, trans cooler, etc.. The parachute assembly is all done mounted to the trunk with the release handle all done which seemed to turn out pretty nice.

Everytime I thought I could start painting this thing I remembered a few more parts that needed to be welded on so I still havent painted it which is getting bad with all the moisture here the tubes are starting to get a little rust coating so I will be pushing hard to get it done by this weekend so I can tie up our paint booth and get it painted. With the extra tubing I made to brace the rear end together and all the componants finally getting installed it is starting to finally look like the race car I meant it to be.

I need to find a way to weigh the entire car just I get a rough idea but it still couldnt weigh too much... the steering isnt even tight and it almost feels like it has power steering while resting on its own weight with the engine and body installed. I was pretty happy about that one. Anyways, I will see if I can actually take some pics tonight and post them up... its been awhile

Glad to hear the projects are still moving along.

Here is what I am thinking to do as the paint for all the tubes and chassis. I figured I will make it black at the bottom and fade to this purplish color at the top. I also used some blue pearl to make it have a bluish sparkle:
