Im noticing most people on this Turbo are going to larger injectors. Do you guys feel this is a critical point for larger injectors? Meaning, if one were to get this turbo, you will need the larger injectors? I am curious as to the air volume difference between the stock Evo 8 turbo and this 20g.

Youre absolutley going to need larger injectors for this turbo. Most people with full bolt-ons on the stock turbo can be in the 90% duty cycle on the stock turbo, however most people really come to the limit of them, and then most add alcohol injection which will lessen the amount of injector you need.

However, with this turbo, 660s would be absolutely mandatory if not in the 7s. I got a pair of 750cc since they will work fine with the stock ECU and they were the same price.

Whenever you upgrade turbo it's basically a must to get bigger injectors, I got 880's and I'm sort of planningfor the future

Hey, a question for anyone that is already running this turbo. Did you notice more of a "whistling" sound upon spoolup? I've had mine in for about two weeks, still untuned so I can't really get on it yet, but it definitely sounds different than the stock IX turbo..

Anyone want to comment on theirs?

Thanks,

Tony

(anxiously awaiting everyone's FP Green results... )

tcarretti, please be sure to post up your impressions of the Green as compared to your IX turbo (spool, top end, etc) ... as well as what IX cams you went with and why. Thanks

blockhed, are you getting your race gas tune this Wednesday? We're all pulling for you (to take down some 50 trims... )

Also, please keep us updated on your pump gas runs

Assuming pump gas specific gravities, target AFR around 11:1, 43 psi, etc, you would need 675 cc injectors to cover a 49 lb/min turbo. Your options are to run 650s and push your luck (they'll get back to ~99% on race gas at 12:1), or go to 750s and not have to see anything over ~90% IDC.

Fow what it's worth, the same math puts the stock injectors on the stock turbo at 99.7%, and I logged values between 99 and 101 regularly.

Can't wait to see what difference the green will make over the stock IX's... I don't see any cams in your mod list

I'm waiting for someone with a IX to upgrade to an FP EvoGreen too. I might be in the market very soon, so maybe I'll be the test subject...
