I'm down for a good friendly run... so whichever FP Green guy I race better have all of the above mentioned points down pat.....

We just did my friends IX, Manny's El.BlueEvo9 and he loves it. His mods are Pump, TBE, Injen Intake and UIP, AMS intercooler and LIP, 750 injectors, Megan o2, Buschur ported Ex. Manifold. It made a nice improvement over his stock IX turbo.
Very soon he will run it at the track. On the stock IX he went 12.04@114.67, so this next run should be good with the 20G-LT.
You will enjoy yours, .
What's the matter with you Mannie!!! You putting my name out there again ..............The car has not seen the Dyno yet but will pretty soon on pump. I can tell you this, the car feels so much stronger than when I had the stock turbo, especially on the top end. 04AWDTURBOEVO ran an 11.5@ 120+ the other day in an unprepared run. Roughly around 97-98 octane. Not Bad.

El.BlueEvo9, it will be interesting to see if/how much your stock cams are holding the Green's top end back when you get it on the dyno...

Any more comparisons regarding the new turbo? spool, low-end torque, drivability compared to stock IX?

It's not so much a debate, as it is showing real-world results. OK, so we have tested the Green to flow around 49lb/min. We still need to see some legit 1/4 mile times (let's face it - Buschur's and Curt Brown's cars are far above and beyond most of our Evo's - they could probably slap on a 16g and go hit 9's )

Not to mention, FP had this turbo rated as flowing 47lb/min...

I just want to see how an equally matched (same bolt-ons, drivers, same fuel) Green turboed car fares against a tried-and-true 50trim ON THE STREET. (not on paper...)

FP Green early results: safe tune, Mustang dyno'd 342 HP, 21 PSI, 100 octane tune, afr only 11-10.9 I had the usual supporting mods+ GSC S1 cams. Stock ECU boost control. This was a VIII, The car had a few issues and couldn't advance the timing due to knock, zero timing at peak tourqe, and very little overall, for some reason my car could not run richen up to reduce the knock even with Denso 720 inj. I have the walbro FP, but I will hook up a pressure gauge to see if that is the problem. There is still alot of power to be had once the problems are solved.

I wouldnt even bother telling people of those sort of results. Zero timing at peak torque? Comeon, there is really something wrong with that car, clearly.

He had a several positive preliminary comments on it. I don't know how to link the site check it out on NORCAL EVO power mods. They are not as critical as the guy above. Looks like my car is setup similar to yours.

I know that Bryan liked the turbo. I meant why did he think it was knock prone?

atlvalet,

Has your car already been tuned with the FPGreen? If so, what are your impressions so far? What was your set up before this?

thanks,

Tony

No, not yet. The EvoGreen just shipped and is scheduled to get here on the 28th. Then, I have to take the hotside off and send it in to Swain...which will add another 2 weeks. Because of all the downtime, I keep fighting the urge to add more parts (and I keep losing). I am tempted to add an ARC intake, based on the experiences of some NorCal folks. Am also looking at that Sun Hyper Ignition thingy. I also haven't decided on injectors...thought I was going to go with 780cc Precisions...might change my mind and go with 750cc RC Engineering injectors. Am going to swap out the GSC 272's I just put in 2 weeks ago for some S1's after some pms w/ Greg @ GSC (see what I mean about failing to resist the urge to add/change stuff).

Old set-up was a WR with most major bolt-ons and stock cams. Dynoed @ 306/306 on 91 on TT's Dynojet. That was with a HFC. I am thinking the metal cat I will be using is as close as you're going to get to a test pipe (I started an organic pet company...it's against my nature to pollute )

My goal is 380-400 whp on 91. I want to rival the numbers Evo 9's have been getting with the Green

We'll see what happens, and go from there
