real intercooler test on the way
evovin,
I am surprised to see that intercooler on MachV's site to be honest. I guess it's a sign of the times, people want cheap junk so I guess MachV has decided to offer cheap junk. That is an Ebay I/C, the same one I tested, with some new name spray painted on the front......

What's really sad is all the bickering I see in this thread. It would be great to see some actual data, but I'm sure the OP has many other priorities as well. I'm in the market to buy a new fmic soon (not looking at any of the ebay clones either, no offense to you guys that do run them) and it saddens me to see the senseless whoring of a particular company's IC. A friend of mine has one of their FMIC's, and personally I don't want a IC that I have to use their LICP in order to use it. Yes, this company gets good results with it, but due to the 2 points I stated above I'm leaning more towards the AMS piece. Bashing other companies and shameless promotion is not always the best sales tactics.
The update is it got cold before the testing could get done. I said from the start I was doing this for my own knowledge. I have no desire to test the coolers when its cold out. Florida doesnt get much cold weather so whats the point?
I was also interested in on road results. And that in itself is not so easy. This town is swarming with cops and I got a wreckless and a speeding ticket in one month. I am the only driver in this house and cant afford any more hits on my license. Add to that 100s of pulls at full power is extremely hard and expensive on the car. The tranny snapped forth gear from all the torque the car was making. So I ended up installing a 2.0 to make the tranny happy.
I could go on but from all the ungrateful replies this thread gets you might as well just close the thread. I dont have much desire to share the results when they are done.

I am thinking that may be this test could give another interesting results:
-All IC in the same place, vertical and all with frontal exposure to same fan models. (can be done 1 by one too)
-Tap all ICs on the bottom.
-Fill them with boiling water
-Put a thermometer on them (1 in water / 1 stripted on IC center)
=> How temperatures are going down vs elapsed time...
Excel graph will visualize results...if you take some time to do it, please keep us informed! (I don't have much than my stock IC! :-(
Cheers.

i'm still interested about the results regardless of the negative comments. i'm not a namebrand guy nor do i trust stuff on ebay, i just want something that works. an intercooler is meant to drop a car's IAT.
thank you for trying, i'm sure i'm not the only one waiting for results. i understand if you don't want to reveal the results.
to all those who had negative comments maybe next time YOU CAN KEEP THEM TO YOURSELVES AND THANKS FOR RUINING IT FOR ALL OF US!
