So if it's sure the bracket I'll get it, but don't want to spend the extra 150 if it isn't the bracket and I can just buy the idler pulley.

So my main question - If i replace everything timing related except the bracket, will noise be fixed or will only bracket do it?

2nd question - Any recommendations on anything else to be swapped out besides all the belts/pullies/waterpump since all that area is being accessed? Don't want to be digging into that area once this job is done.
Get the bracket. Part Number 1091A133 Bracket Cylinder Block. 100% fixed mine.

Seems like the hracket is the way to go.

Another note, should I replace and pulleys or whatever from the serpentine belt area? I already replaced the serpentine belt itself so that's covered at least.

Probably not necessary but I did just because I was already replacing everything else.

My Evo is a mix match of various 8/9 parts. I'm running a 8 Block and a 9 Head + Timing Parts (9 Belt, Water Pump, etc).

How can I tell which one is the newer revision? Kinda looks like the one I had painted black looks closer to it. My car had 1000 miles and wasn't making noise but reading through the thread I saw people who had that noise come up at 10-20,000 miles and want to avoid it

One on the left actually looks like the newer version. See on STM for reference: https://stmtuned.com/collections/mit...-block-bracket It matches the part of the bracket that looks machined.

Yeah it's just the lower section here that's throwing me off. On the revised part it looks thinner. The upper bolt hole looks identical though. I wish someone could point out exactly the differences between the new and old part (where exactly it was rubbing) to just take a angle grinder to it + flap wheel and clearance it instead of dropping $170-200 on a new bracket.

Looking at the extended part that the 3 studs thread into. You can see how much skinnier it is where it extends out from the bracket compared to that area on the painted bracket. I would guess thats the area that was causing issues but idk for sure. Thats the major difference I notice.

The noise you describe sounds like the input shaft

Sounds you describe maybe the input shaft..
Noisy when you push in the clutch means throw out bearing, could be bad - but if it's noisy like that when you idle and if it gets worse or louder it's the input shaft ..
Transmissions aren't cheap, better to be safe than sorry, make sure the mechanic you use doesn't take you for a new clutch , then you will still have the same problem when it's done but you will have to pay anyway....
Just sayin- from experience.
