Thanks for clarification of what the world's position is lol.

My point is, which I suspect you comprehend already, is that for 95% of the quarter mile the time was done in load cells which would knock on pump. I don't know how those cells are mapped, but I can only go by the fact you couldn't run it on pump.

Also as an aside, I don't understand why a tuner would make a map that knocks at 27 psi on pump, but no knock at 25. Why not map the car so it doesn't knock at 30 psi?

You tune a map that knocks at 27 psi and not at 25 because thats how you get the best out of a motor in terms of safety and power.

You can tune a motor to take 30 psi on pump (some can), however you do this by making the motor very boost friendly (internally, mechanically, and tune wise( very low timing amongst other things).

Why doesn't everybody run maximum boost on ****ty octane? Because its dangerous and doesnt make as much power, or make it as safely as doing it on high octane.

I know you understand a lot but your logic seems to be flawed.

Your Race gas map is more aggressive than your Pump gas map because it can be, due to the octane. If you were to run the same boost and timing with pump gas as you do on race gas you might gain a little power but I am sure it would be much more prone to knock.

Scorke, your basically saying a map that knocks is good.

My point is, I'm not saying a tuner should say here, run 40 psi held, all day long on 93. I'm just saying that a tuner should map for a lot of boost. That way if your boost goes up a little bit your not all the sudden knocking. If you look at the logs of Dan's map, for sure he could run more boost on pump, by just pulling timing more. Would it be faster? Maybe not. Would it make the pump gas map safer? I think so which is my point.

And on top of that, Dan could have made a run at 28 psi on pump on the dyno and Dan could have made the decision on what boost he likes to run on pump. Not because he is forced to cuz the car knocks.

Now, I believe Dan's been mailed in flashed, and maybe the pump gas map is not complete yet. So I'm not saying this all applies to Dan in particular, I'm just saying generally.

My argument saying Dan was on a race map was a bit rigid. In reality he was not on a pump map, and not a full race map. Only Dan and his tuner know how aggressive the cells at 27 psi are mapped. Which is the part of the map he would have been in. Not the pump safe area.

Bump on this question of fuel pressure.

I'm curious because my friends car with revolvers, 2 litre, green, ported mani's and tb, autronic, rc1000's, etc runs about same injector duty cycle on pump for that boost level. Little bit better spool too.

evodan2004, I'm very happy to see your update and successes as well with the TS set-up. I can't wait to install mines. Too bad for you, JestR is my neighbor, so I'm going to specifically tell him "To make me way faster then you"... Succkaaa

Great spool, your car looks great, sounds good, and slow down a bit because you're buying all the mods I want. Last thing I need is to hear from you saying I'm biting on you..

Of course he will have faster spoolup. Also cam timing I'm sure is not the same.
