9sec9/OKIX's EVO, ROUND TWO!
Thanks Mike. You know, if you think about it, a bunch of EvoM'ers have done a great job of sharing information which in turn helps all of us get to the next level. It' community involvement that's allowed us to improve. It's going to be really nice with all of the new things on the horizon. I imagine by this time next year, 9's on a Red will be old news. David will be running 8's on the RS and all of the BIG builds will be cutting back on the whp and becoming more efficient. Thanks for the support and words of encouragement.
Yes it is amazing how much improvement is made with a few simple innovations.. Over 1 years time many are doing things that last year was said couldnt be done.. I really need 2 evo's myself... 1/2 of me enjoys a nice simple t3 setup running mid 9's and the other 1/2 says go all out and try to be #1.. After the shootout we plan to do some big things as well with some help from Indy and BR.. I cant wait for the shootout.. Are you going to be running Stock appearing with your car?? We have a car for that class and it should make for some good competition amongst some other stock appearing cars. Good luck!!
All conceived by a computer genius from Oklahoma, a guy with a Etch-a-Sketch from Indy, lifelong friends with lots of talent, and a cranky tuner from Ohio.

Curious to know something about those logs.
How much elapsed time between the 2-3 shift? What are Trent's avg elapsed times??
Reason I ask is everyone is quick on the 'downstroke' 2nd and 4th gear shifts, the 3rd gear 'upshift' seperates the men from the boys!!!
Maybe you can do some comparisons for us all to compare against? I guess right now the 'trent-o-matic' is setting the standard for what a 'good' driver is suppossed to be doing?

9sec9,
What 330s do think it's going to take to get a 9 second slip?
I dont think one driver outshines the other. Tony does an awsome job of driving the car. In fact if Tony had Roly 60ft. he would knock off almost 2 tenths from the 330 mark, and that would put them about same. The most import part of a 1/4 mile run is the 60 ft., then its shifting. Weight of a car makes a huge difference in the 60ft along with the setup. Roly has a great combination, and great driving skills. Anytime you make more power, alot changes, so it will take a couple trips to get the car dialed in right.
Great job Tony and Tom!!

I think there is alot of guys that can drive as good if not better than me. My favorite gear change is 2-3
I think im slower on other shifts.
I think this statement is somewhat self-contradictory. One of the reasons Tony may not have a Roly 60ft is because he's not quite as good as Roly in the 60ft. Notice I said one of the reasons as other factors would be track prep, car weight etc. What shouldn't be forgotten is that Roly drives a number of Evo's in PR and his 60ft's are equally impressive among all of them. Currently, due to experience and sheer number of passes in different cars, I'd give Roly the edge for sure.

The import car scene is much more than a hobby down there. Often it seems that to the Puerto Rican's cars and racing are the most important and possibly only interest in life. In Puerto Rico racing is like eating and sleeping, its part of daily life.
I have raced against Rolly and I consdier him to be one of the best shifters and drivers I have ever watched run a car down the 1/4 mile, bar none. There is a good reason why so many of the car owner's in Puerto Rico leave the driving duties to Rolly, honestly he is not human when it comes to shifting.
I am not taking anything away from Tony, but the reality is that it will take a near perfect job behind the wheel to out do Rolly - he is that good.
IMHO all the more reason to give Tom and Tony credit and encouragement to go out and try and beat the best.
It would be great to see Rolly and his team members at the Shootout to race heads up against Tom and Tony.

Rolly has hundreds and hundreds of drag passed in all sorts of cars under his belt and his tracks are open 365 days a year unlike in the US where racing is stypically a seasonal sport. Also in PR the tracks are all a close distance from the dyno shop. Its hard to imagine how determined and motivated the PR guys are.
I can tell you that being around them will really motivate anyone to get more serious about the sport.

Gonna be another crazy ESA car? Its hard to believe its going to take 10s to be competitive in the STOCK appearing class.
