Can you please please please comment on the streetability of this turbo, specifically compared to a stock IX turbo, or perhaps the green? You've been using it for longer than anyone out there, and we wanna know!

Perhaps even post the dyot of it on your car!?!

A few things. FP or any other company has NO responsibility to tell ANYONE what projects they are working on or what else is coming. Trade secrets keep the companies who actually develop parts in business, it's bad enough having companies trying to copy you AFTER you've made the part, getting them copied before they are done would require a rope and tall tree.

We've been running the Red on Trent's car for close to two months. He loves it, says it is the smoothest turbo he has ever driven.

His car is full built, as in full built. It ran 10.0 at 140+ mph on a 35r and he sold his 35r kit and decided to slow it down. Now he's got this new Red and has ran a 10.9 at 124 mph with it. That was done on straight 93 octane fuel, 28 psi, AEM EMS, BF272's and everything else we offer, also run on slicks.

I've said this before and I'll say it again and it is not meant to be rude. If you want to know what the car runs with a mix match of crap and a stock ECU you are not going to get those results from us because that's not how we do things. If you parts and tuning suck then even with a Red on the car it is going to suck. No turbo is going to fix your poor choices.

Trent's car made 410 on 93 octane on our dyno. I was no leaning on the car when I tuned it. I'm fairly certain it has another 20 whp in it. Trent's pretty fired up to get it back on the dyno and take it back to the track after seeing what we've made with Tom's car.

The turbo is available. There are about 15 of them that can ship within a week or two. The price is $1795. Anyone that wants one can order from us, just give us a call. We sold quite a few today, if FP sold some the availability has to be getting short already.

Bottom line is the turbo made 530 running it on an ideal combination. Go from there with your calculations. No matter how you look at it the Red made about 100 more whp than the Green on basically the same combination and the same car. Don't fool yourself though, 530 is not something many other EVO's are going to make on this turbo on our dyno, this was done on a bad ***, no excuses EVO.

I wondered if Trent was running the BF272s. I know that they are THE CAM for the hta35r. I wonder how much a difference the BF272s would make over my GSC280s with the Red. I already ordered my Red, I just want to make sure I am getting all I can out of it...

just look at the CAM TEST thread. i dont think you will be losing out by having the GSC 280's. Both cams are great and agressive.

What cam test? The AMS test did not have the GSC280 since it's the old cam.

And anyone who bought something else because they didn't know this was coming is an idiot. That's the price you pay for being impatient. Everybody knew the FP Red was coming. Hell I posted my suspicions in January!
hindsight is 20/20

not everyone can afford to wait, some people are in the middle of a build and need a turbo soon, and if they are told a turbo is not coming out, or its not gonna be out for at least 6 months, then they need to find another solution

maybe you can enlighten everyone else since you are omnipotent??? what is next? an FP violet that flows 100lbs/min and gets full spool at 7 rpm???

My cams were made before they had an S2 or S3. They may have just given them another name, but that's not the impression that I got.

that is all well and good, and i understand the need to keep new products under wraps, but when a customer says i want xxxx and here is my money, and you know xxxx is only a couple weeks away from being released. then maybe you should at least tell the customer to wait a little bit, you dont have to say any more than that.

maybe FP wasnt planing to release the red this soon, maybe they were. i dont know

IF FP had said "wait", they would have one less red on their hands

I dont fault FP or anyone else for what happened, i got caught and it sucks, but it happens.

in fact i will probably send my 30r to fp for HTA treatment over the winter
