Same dyno, same tuner, both cars fully built. So main diff is the gas. But I don't think race gas is a tremendous advantage at only 22 psi.
Good observation. Certainly lower boost is attractive to the road race folk.

I'm looking forward to seeing some tests with a close to stock intake manifold.

9sec9, I really appreciate your contributions to sharing info about the Red.

If you don't mind, I'd like to use your set-up as an example. With nothing more than a larger set of injectors, you could probably slap this turbo onto your motor and pick-up 50-60whp. Then sell your old green and injectors and recoupe more than half the money you spent!!!.... Guys with cars similar to yours will eat this turbo up.
Damn! I knew I shouldn't have left the side door to my garage open! You went and bolted another 50-60 WHP onto my scoot!

Do you really lose 700 rpm with an intake manifold?

And the Wilson V2 manifold I thought had better low end than the Driven Innovations. So this means going to the driven you can expect the power band shifted to the right more than 700 rpm?

As for the new FP Red, it seems like a pretty cool turbo but to me 30 psi at 4600 rpm in 4th sounds like a GT30 type turbo. But obviously the Red will be cheaper and maybe make more power?

It's ok it was sort of rhetorical question and in looking at David's intake manifold testing the data is there already.

I don't know about cheaper. The additional cost of a full turbo kit would be offset by being able to get the power without the pricey intake manifold and built head, plus then you can always do the head and intake and make numbers that will leave the bolt-on turbo in the dust. Unless someone places a substantial value on stock-appearing, the bolt-on route doesn't really seem to make sense for someone looking for big power, especially if you give up the stock spool in the process.

I think there is something quite nice about bolt-on stock trubo replacements.

The chances of a stock manifold cracking on you (to the point of being unusable) are pretty minimal.

It fits like stock so anything that works on a stock car will work with this turbo.

It looks like stock, which comes in handy once a year for registration.

It works with a modular upgrade approach, which is pretty typical of this market. Replacing the turbo doesn't require changing out everything attached to the turbo to make it work.

It will be a decent value if the price to upgrade a used IX is reasonable. Show me one other turbo setup that you can bolt on and make 500 HP for (hopefully) around $1000. ***Just speculating on the price, and am hopefull it hits that price point***

Is it for everybody? Probably not, but I'm sure it will have it's market.

A little more data on this turbo and I could ditch the GT3076R I have sitting in a box to use with the 2.3L I'm starting on. Hmmmm.

lots of speculation on this turbo...seems everyone is very excited about it, can't wait to see more people hitting the dyno.

+1

Like David said though......9sec9 car doesn't pick up groceries at your local Super Walmart.

I'd be happy close to 400 on a mustang dyno
