So according to your theory, using NLTS would also cause this as its pretty much a rev limiter...

No... NLTS is nothing like a rev limiter. NLTS allows you to be WOT and the RPMs drop when you press the clutch in. Rev limiters cause you to bounce off of the rev limit.

Well, technically if you cant get into gear with NLTS it does hit a different type of rev limit, one that keeps it from falling more

Thread back from the dead

I recently had to replace my alternator and while I was under there, I was like "let me check things out." I found this! Luckily I caught it now before something really bad happened. I got real lucky. It scared the crap out of me! I had to replace my sprocket, pulley, gates timing belt (which was shaved down 1/3 from rubbing. If I would of had an OEM belt on there, it probably would of broke), and lower timing cover. WOW, I get creepy goose bumps looking at that pic.

bringin it back from the dead again. i just snapped 3 bolts, luckily i was letting my car warm up at my friends house and had a buddy with a trailer there already. looking into the best replacement parts glad i got a few answers and really shocked at how common this is.

The crankshaft pully itself? the harmonic balancer and the bolts?
