IX MR Transmission fluid

Hey guys,

I've searched and read several threads regarding replacement trans fluid, but I still cant make up my mine. I'm going to replace the clutch tomorrow and I need to purchase some trans fluid locally from the part store that is equivalent or close to the factory specs.

all they have there are:
lucas 80/90
valvoline 80/90

both non-synthetic (i heard synthetic ruins the seals over time)

btw its a 6 spd, I know mitsubishi recommends a different trans fluid (Super Multi Gear 75W-85) which is different than the 5 spd.

thanks for the suggestions

Get the factory fluid, all professionals reccomend especially for the 6spd due to the extra gear. You could shorten the life fast using enything else.

Do yourself the favor and take everyone's suggestions! I "tried" a recommended fluid on the forums here. It was HORRIBLE. Went back to stock fluids within the week. Wasted around $10 for nothing. So...OEM!
