Seems like a ton of work (with room for problems) for a street car, not to mention just another large object to take up the trunk . I guess this is the only solution for folks wanting a short route UICP and don't want to worry about the small battery going dead....

I have been holding off -- I want to install my BR UICP, but don't want to move the battery. My plan was to just get a small battery kit. These threads always throw a twist in my plans ....Maybe I should reconsider moving the battery to the trunk.

Its not a lot of work and there arent problems unless you hack your way thru it.

Its basically the same procedure as wiring up an amp in the trunk except its a battery not an amp. So if you have every wired in an amp before it should be easy for you.

also.. i have improved drivability from going from a mini to a big battery.. the car felt a lot smoother and a lot funner to drive vs the odyssey battery i had.. my battery was on its last leg also tho.. and the reason i didnt mount battery on passenger side is because i was going for a straight shot path for the positive wire.

Its pretty easy actually. I routed the positive cable from the engine bay through the pass grommet behind the glovebox, underneath the pass door sill/floor, through the pass rear door sill/floor, through the bottom of the rear seat, into the trunk. The evo interior pieces come off super easy. You can chose to route it how you wish but dont let it scare you, its not that hard to do with a little bit of patience.

To the OP, did you not have enough cable to hide everything a little better? Pretty clean otherwise

i would have done that, it also allows you more room to hide the cable also in engine bay, but i have that entire grommet stuffed with vacuum lines and other stuff already

I already have a cable (iirc 4awg) running to the back trunk for an amp I installed....I wonder if I could just use that ? Or do I need to run 0awg ?

4awg is not enough. I think 2awg at the smallest

I'm pretty sure that's not the type of wire you use either, has wayy too many strands of wire inside. I tried it in highshool and my car wouldnt fire half the time.

More strands = better....That said, I suspect I should have a 0 awg wire to the back....For now I will just keep the stock battery in the stock location...
