^I don't agree with "lesson learned" and end of story. Fact is MAP "knows" what was sent and Croat-boy "knows" what was received. The shipping company sits in the middle and should be spoken to - especially if insurance was purchased (please tell me insurance was purchased!).

I don't know what leg there is to stand if the package was signed for.

I guess leasson learned might be a bit harsh, but this thread is point less. Both parties involved here might not be at fault. Good luck getting money from fed ex, let me know how that works out for the O.P

the worst experience I ever had with MAP was I bought a CCI twin from them when it first came out, well i got a bad one, poor machining or something, but CCI over night me a brand new one that works beautifully. it's just kinda lame I had to pay for installation of a clutch twice due to MAP selling me a bad clutch. I'm sure that's on the far end of the spectrum of their bad customer service. Does Chris need to reimburse me? No, but you know? isht happens. Do I think MAP is a great company? Adam and Chris are great guys and this is why they succeed in this industry

I also just read every page and Excuse my language but LOL IS THIS KIDS IS A TOTAL RETARD?? ....... Just cause you blew your clutch and are poor or something?... doesn't mean you can try to pull a skam on a vendor

Map is a great company I myself have ordered many things from them at great prices and always receive products on time and 100% BRAND NEW

Really you’re calling him poor? Aren’t you all poor down there at the moment? Jeez man stop being an ***. Could this be a scam... sure, but I think (as it's been said before) there’s more to it then that.

But if you want to jump on the scam boat be my guest, doesn’t help / change anything.

From what I read and understood seems like he ordered a new clutch.... got the new one and took pictures of his old one?? Thinking he might get refunded or something. To be honest what goes through your head to post that a well known vendor is selling used parts. If that was the case and is a true story the correct thing to do is to contact the company you purchased from ask them first what is going on before making a huge thread on a public forum and bashing the vendor

SAy what you want. Funny how no one can explain missing and used parts in the box.

I have explained the reasoning behind my accusations, and if the stinky a** shoe fits.... wear it.

Until some one has something better to explain, thats my story. My scenario is much more plausible than anything else I have read.

And when Croatian made this public, it became every ones business.

Did you not read at least the very first post? The OP did contact MAP about this first, it's after he got a negative that he started the thread.

No.

It sounds like the OP is trying to pull a fast one, hard to be sure though. I know MAP isn't in the wrong. If they were, they would fix it.

So I noticed that it wasn't stated if it was indeed drop shipped or not. If it was drop shipped then by all means exedy could have just put a used clutch in the box by mistake (one sent in for a rebuild or whatever). Or MAP could have bought like 10 clutches from exedy and put them on their shelf not knowing one was a mistakenly sent used clutch from exedy.

The whole shipping weight from MAP is bs because countless times I ship something and put less weight on the tag to save on shipping (i.e. weighs 15lbs I put 10lbs) and I never had so much of a peep from the shipping companies about anything. Either way the customer is always right and MAP should talk to Exedy and explain what happens im sure exedy would cover the cost as to not lose a vendor like MAP from buying their products since they do so much business with them.

Do I think MAP intentionally went out of their way to do this, no, I believe it was a mistake on someones end. As for the kid trying to pull a scam then that would be pretty stupid to try to do it with something like a clutch. Anyone can tell a used clutch to a brand new one.

As for the Fedex guy opening the box and swapping stuff thats such a load of crap, why wouldnt he just take the **** out of the box, bang the box up a little and tear it. Then when he delivers it say this is how the box came your going to have to call Fedex and file a claim for damaged shipping. Then go by a friends house or w/e drop the clutch off and say ill be back for it after I get off work..

Lets not all jump on the praise MAP bandwagen either I ordered a exhaust mani gasket from them. 2 Weeks go by and I didn't hear or recieve anything. I call them and they say that they never got it. Who knows maybe they forgot to order it. So they went to the local Mitsu dealer, bought one and sent it next day air to me but my point being is that everyone makes mistakes.

Bottomline is MAP should make the situation right and do what they have to do. I think it would look much better for them if they called exedy got a new clutch and sent it to the kid. Companies will get scammed but they never know for sure if it is one or not.. I for one will not buying anything from MAP because of my personal experience and just because of these accusations scam or not. I work with crap like this all day. I wholesale produce to restraunts and distributers, im a middle man. If someone brings something back and wants credit what am I going to do. Lose that customer even though I know im the one losing in the end? No I give them new stuff then tell the shipper that the stuff I got was **** and I cut his price he gave me. A few times crap is brought back that isnt even the same label that we sell. Then and only then you have enough reason not to issue a credit.

^this

its up to MAP to make this right. i think the kid has given enough evidenece to prove he is not at fault. lawyer up kid. i dont think MAP is gunne budge. MAP needs to get you a new clutch and then they can take it up with the shipper or supplier.

agreed.....map needs to do the right thing and take their claim against exedy. exedy is a big company and will reimburse map for this. this is part of business and mistakes happen. if this kid turns out to be legit and does get a lawyer or fights it with his credit card company and they charge map back its gonna cost them alot more than if they just swap the clutch. Map needs to be smarter on this one and telling someone to just go pound sand they are scamming could really come back to cause issues. Honestly Map you need to look into this more and look at all possible avenues before making your decision. it is very possible exedy made a mistake on this one.
