Wow some of you peeps trying to pull the scam card on me must be literally POS in life or just feel like sucking some vendor dick. I can drop the tranny right now what you will see it is the clutch that has been in there since it was blown. And that is the OEM one from MITSU. And if that doesn't get through your thick skulls then your just plain ignorant. I have paper work from my last clutch job. So no I'm not scaming. They never talked about insurance when i ordered the part.
Update: The situation has been resolved to the satisfaction of all parties involved. My sincerest apologies to Niko for the accusations that were made by myself and other contributors to this thread, please click here for my conclusions resulting from this situation.

Honestly dude chris just posted some info where you asked for exedy twin prices as early as january 12, 2009 and then you posted a "im putting my exedy twin soon" in february...
Its looks shady although im not judging, i stand up for map cause they have always done me right And earned my respect and business...
As far as lawyers go ahead... If your in the same state you can go to a small claims court and claim up to 3,000...
If your in a different state.. Better hire a lawyer with federal credentials cause last time i checked ... State to state affairs are held in federal jurisdiction....
All that said good luck to you... But i still have my 1st amendement right to say

Alright, now that I'm in the office here I can address a few of these questions:
First, this clutch was drop shipped directly to the customer from an Exedy warehouse. Is there a very small possibility that Exedy misplaced a warranty repair unit that was shipped out to this customer, yes there is I cannot deny that. However, it all comes back to the weight issue. The warehouse it shipped from carries several other product lines and I find it very hard to believe that they would assume the weight of this clutch and not actually weigh it. Also, for those that think this may have occurred why would they enter the shipping weight higher (in comparison the the 22.8lbs the customer is claiming he received) as they would have paid more for shipping? Most of the examples I read are the other way around to save on shipping costs...
Second, I can tell you with a high degree of certainty that neither Exedy or the warehouse it was shipped from will be willing to send out a replacement clutch with the information available. If the shipping weight of the package was less than the complete unit then I would at least have a leg to stand on
Regardless of my opinion I will still be calling them today and I will report back with their response.
Thirdly, we aren't talking about bad produce here we're talking about a $1400 clutch kit. Contrary to popular belief we make VERY little margin (especially on Exedy twins) based on the aggressive competition on this forum. I think its pretty clear that we are in no way at fault for this situation so its hard for me to just bite the bullet here and take a significant loss.

But, I doubt exedy even weighs twins anymore. They probably just know the weight and put in 34lbs or whatever. Who's to say the ACTUAL box shipped was wieghed.

Got off phone with Chris and we found out exedy made the mistake and no one else. It was good new to hear and yet again he showed true El Presidente resposibilities and we are both pleased to have this resolved and just on good terms again. Even through all this mess I'm still going to do business with them.

Wow, good to hear it's resolved, and I am certainly happy for me and the others that did not rush to judge but took different approaches as to what might have happened. . . those who were certain that the OP was pulling a scam, well you learn from this experience and think twice before you judge someone like this next time.
Chris, you handled the whole situation in a very profesional and mature way, proving once again that we (customers) can trust you with our bussiness.
OP, enjoy your brand new exedy twin
