Dang wow glad this worked out for you OP. It was looking bad for a moment. I wouldn't take too much offense over how people thought of the situation as it was sort of a freak type accident it would seem. I am glad it worked out for you and as you can tell I kinda had the feeling from the beginning that you should get benefit of the doubt.

Its all good that what the internet is for. People to rag on other people without any consiquence. lol Still I'm happy too cause I would never try to scam a big vendor like them. Just glad the people at fault admited to it and I get my part soon so I can get car rolling again. MAP guys are awesome to deal with and will do business again with them soon

Congrats to the OP for following through and ignoring all the hate. Props to you.

I'm glad the vendor also followed through and straightened things out. I'm a repeat MAP customer!

it just goes to show how fast people are to accuse people of wrong doing....

it would've been much better if everyone kept to themselves...

Damn this was a rollercoaster of a thread! Thanks for getting me through the end of the workday! Everybody wins! MAP is a great vendor, the kid got his clutch and I wasted some time.

i just finished the 12 pages now.. there were holes in both sides of the story im glad it turned out good for the op. i think its fncked up it took map a few days and 11 pages of public back and fourth before they even called exedy. something the op could have done also when he found out it was drop shipped. if i was the op i would never ever use map again, maby they gave him the clutch at HUGE discount or free for him to say he would return to them for more business thats what it would take for me to say that. all that beng said all the map nuthuggers on here and customers that stand behind them, and the presidents interaction/involvement , i personal dont think id hesitate to order something or anything from map.

Posting on a public forum does not make it everyones business?

In regards to the apologies, I have personally PM'ed Croatiankid and apologized. I made a mistake, it happens. Ask Exedy..... lol.

Nut hugger? LMFAO. I don't have ANY MAP parts on my car, nor have I ever contacted them.

Why is this still open?

Congrats getting the situation resolved, Croat. I still think it wasn't the best to get pops involved or post this complaint on the engine/turbo/drivetrain forum, but at least you weren't scamming. Kudos to you for not getting too bent out of shape with all the accusations.

It would be interesting to know whether MAP will change their practice of taking the manufacturer's word (shipping weight) so trustingly in the future. I suppose if nothing else they wouldn't rule out the possibility of this being the issue.

For whoever is giving grief to MAP for this to take 2 days and 11 pages to contact Exedy, give us a break. Wasn't this thread started yesterday afternoon? Was Exedy even available in time? How is MAP supposed to be responsible for however many of us turn threads like these into whoppers? It sounds like Exedy was contacted relatively early today for assistance on the matter.
