Not surprised at all. Like Mike we always try to steer people away from Meth.

We actually have a lot of e85 on the west coast, but in Arizona, 90% of it is located in Tucson, which is a good 2.5 hour drive for me.

Absolutely, there has to be something monetarily thats keeping NJ from bringing it in.

Probably the cost alone of fitting all of the gas stations with tanks and pumps, advertising, etc. Something along those lines.

I am in NJ and E85 would make my day, double the HP with a FP Black, 550WHP easily.

I was thinking about meth for my Supra but decided against it just because it's another possible point of failure that can cause major engine damage.

Must as well keep it to either 93 octane or race gas.

If you want e85 start getting you and all your friends together and writing your congressmen. At least if they see people asking for it they might make an effort to have it made more available. You never know it might just work.

A good site to find car enthusiast congressmen is sema.org

It also depends on how you tune with it if it's used a knock suppresent and you tune on 11.1 afr so if the pump fails it would go 1 point higher you should be a bit safer then tuning with lean afr's lean like some other people.

If you're using enough methanol to make it worth your while, it will definitely lean things more than a full point should the pump fail. Been there, done that.

Meth injection is def not nearly as awesome as e85 but it sure is better than pump gas. I just make sure to run fat since the distribution is not 100%. If you run fatter it will maybe lose a little power but it will be safer.

I have done meth for many years and never had an issue. It is the same thing how more air flows to certain cylinders even though you are injecting the same amount of fuel in all 4. Thats why you should always leave a buffer to compensate for that. Using good failsafes can save you for sure as well. I have been in a car racing another car at 30psi on pump gas when the meth ran out and the boost went to WG spring pressure and saved the motor.

Tuning to the ragged edge is never a good idea unless you monitor each cylinder for knock and o2 and can adjust accordingly.

You consider this to be an acceptable risk?

As for filling up 5 barrels of E85, I'd feel pretty uneasy with 250 gallons of fuel in my garage. I don't think you can do it legally anyway without getting some kind of permit and having the storage system inspected. Kicking out $650 for fuel at a given fill up wouldn't be too enjoyable either.
