I'm not sure what you mean by basic bolt-ons, but I think I have about as few mods as possible (see signature). The only thing I have that you are not asking for is that I run 91octane and an m5 jet with 50% water/50% Meth. That said, I think your results with 93 would be almost identical.

BrettMR made 459 whp/362 ft-lbs of tq at 27 psi and 92 octane : https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...sh-racing.html

Bretts mods are minimal as well, albeit more than mine. I think his exhaust manifold is hurting him too.

As far as me posting videos - I doubt that will happen .

According to your Mod list your running the Greddy Exhaust. Doesn't that exhaust have 2 tapers, one inside the muffler and the other on the flange that mates to the cat? If so then I wonder if its robbing you of any whp.

I don't believe there is a taper inside the muffler and yes I do believe there is a slight taper after the catalytic converter. I could easily make more hp with a Buschur TBE, but I need it quiet .

You should measure the inside by maybe sticking in a piece of cardboard and trimming as necessary until it slides in to measure it. Thats how I found out the Tanabe Medallion necks down to 2.65" inside the muffler.

Well anyways check this thread out:

I believe its the Greddy SP2 exhaust that was removed and resulted in 30 whp increase without touching the tune. There is a video clip and real dyno as well.

I remember that thread and just read the first 6 pages again. There seemed to have been some issues with the test, as the claimed 20hp gain was had with a test pipe over a HFC (?). There were other unanswered questions and lots of obfuscation, as well, which generate very little confidence in the process.

No way am I losing 30 whp to another muffled exhaust ....I like to test everything and enjoy data anlysis. But even so, I guess it just speaks to the wonders of this turbo even more .

Yes the Medallion touring. The inside of the muffler necks down to 2.65" . After looking inside with a flashlight I saw there was a taper. So I took a piece of cardboard started with 3" diameter and kept trimming it until it fit in all the way. When I measured the cardboard it was around 2.65".

I measured the ID of my JIC Stainless Exhaust and it was 2.76". Judging from the results I had on my car, I believe that exhaust design and muffler flow properties are more important than the ID with obvious exceptions. I now have a JIC TI Exhaust with 3.14" ID. This is JIC'S stock looking muffler. So, with more piping and a quieter more restrictive muffler the car has definately lost some topend. I have not had it on a dyno yet to confirm this, but it's considerable enough for the butt-dyno pickup.
