I also drilled and tapped mine upside down (opposite of how you have it), very minimal shrapnel made it into the cover. I also have a parts washer to clean stuff in, so I have no issue saying my cover was squeaky clean and free of junk when it went back on.

The right stepping bit, and grease works wonders. I'll take a picture next time of how it looks when I do one. Nothing like that mess that was posted.

I did way over a dozen covers now and no issues. I did my personal cover 6 years ago as well and its still on the car.

I used a vacuum cleaner when I drilled out and threaded in new thread.
Washed everything out a dozen times and cleaned with carb-cleaner and washed everything out again. No big deal

First Please excuse my ms.paint skills lmfao.

Well I just changed my catch can setup again. Trying to make the turbo happy.

A couple of months ago, I purchased a driven Fabtication VTA Catch can setup. It consisted of two -10an lines, and two -6an(including the Dipstick) Less then 200 since the turbo was rebuilt. And it already started leaking oil. I spoke to Micheal and pretty much came to the conclusion that I needed to have a vacuum source.

Upon startup, the car idled at 3500rpm, i disconnected the vacuum source from the intake manifold and capped it off. The idle dropped back down. Reconnected it to the catch can and remove the hose from the turbo intake and capped it there. It dropped back down.

Has anyone had to get an additional check between the intake and the catch can? I'm assuming the -10an going from the Intake manifold is too big causing this problem. that it is sucking through the whole catch can and pretty much a huge vacuum leak from the airflilter. I even reduced it to a -6 an no change. Could that be a problem or am I having any other issues.
Any info would be helpful.

Biggest you can run to the intake manifold is 6an and a 3/8 boombe check valve and you still have to play with idle settings because the stock pcv valve is puny and doesn't flow much. It doesn't matter how its routed, it'll pull the air from somewhere.

Like mentioned. I even used a reducer to a -6an line and it didn't effect it at all.
Now I'm starting to worrry that it may pull to much oil out of the vc
I already have a second check valve on the way

A second check valve isn't going to do anything. You have significantly increased airflow to the manifold after the TB, you need to adjust the BISS and most likely the idle settings in the ROM to get the car to idle normally again.

Just an update. I put the -6 an reducer on to it, Reconnected the intake. Then I played around with the throttle body stop on the boomba throttle body. Sure enough as i was turning it, the idle kept on dropping. I managed to drop it back down to 1100 rpm. I guess the throttle stopper was opened to much made it idle higher for the previous setup. But now that it is getting the additional vacuum, it doesn't need to be opened as much.

Added 10 miles on the vacuum setup. Crossing my fingers it fixed my issue

It will keep it fixed. You added air from one place, you needed to take it away from another.

Just a heads up for anyone that is having oil in your intercooler/intake system because of crankcase pressure pushing oil back thorough the oil return: clean out your intercooler, piping, intake, and filter now and often if needed.

My car drives 100% better after I cleaned it all out. I did not know it was that bad. The car feels like it is running a lot smoother and picks up noticeably better. I literally poured oil out of my intercooler and intake. Pipes were coated and bov was as well.

The oil coating on the parts also reduces heat transfer and could induce knock. It can also possibly damage sensors.

I got my new setup on and it seems to be working much better. Ill post some pics up later on.
