My #1 choice is Carrillo Pro-H Beams with Carrillo rod bolts. They can be special ordered in 156mm from MAP and they weigh approx 574 grams last time I spoke to Scott at Carrillo. They're good for 1000+hp. The part # for the stock 150mm is MI-4G6T>-65906S and the 156mm should be MI-4G6T>-66142S. These are pricy though. I'd look into MAP's Howards Rods with 7/16 rod bolts for the money I think can't be beat.

Any good news about alloy rods fitting in this kind of build?
As regards weight savings i've found titanium writs pins available weighing about 70 gr each, vs the 135/140 for steel ones, in your opinion are they worth an additional expense of about 400$?
Thanks.....
The oliver rods were the lightest out of my steel rod choices, and the one I would have went with if I didn't get such a great deal on the manley tt rods. Which was tied for second with maperformance heavy duty rods. I went w/ steel rods bc its for DD and some track duty, the verdict is still not out for aluminum rods to be considered for DD. BTW there was a couple of well known gurus that believe aluminum rods would hold up very well bc of new technology. I just didn't want to be the test dummy. Hope this helps.

Follow miragevos suggestion: weisco hd 1400 pistons

I think you have excellent combo right there, good for 1000+ hp. Can't go wrong w/ that.

The I beams are being discontinued (they weigh'd something like 608g) for a very strong and yet lighter H beam. I currently have these in my 2.4 actually Mikey has the I beams.

I made 794 peak and roll around at 700-720 (30psi) normally. I put it back on pumpgas from E85 and had to drop it to around 26psi. That power level is listed in my sig. I am not easy on my car when I am on it. I might putt 5 days a week, but a days worth is pure hell.

smart right there no sense in being test dummy then have to redo motor again trust me **** adds up and keeps adding so just go with what you know will handle dd duty and track work for sure

Thanks for the answer, i was interested in trying the alloy solution for rods, but it seems that tehre are clearance and fitting problems, with 100 mm crank, can somebody confirm me that it's actually possible to fit them, and which brand?
As regards reliability, only time will tell, but i'm really confident in the 18.000 miles of abuse, withot oil cooler, done by John Bradley.....
As regards the titanium wrist pins, i would be really interested, it's a net gain in weight of 60/70 grams per piston on top, anybody has experiences with these?

R&R make a similar weight I beam I think, and are going to release an even lighter version again. How far do you want to go though? All things equal lighter=weaker. Does having 200grams lighter rods actually reduce bearing wear a measurable amount, or make any real world differences either? Anyway I went with 150mm olivers and wiseco HD pistons with the .2 wall pin, eagle 94mm crank in a 63 block for my new build. I've tried to choose lighter parts where possible without compromising strength. Even these parts while being light are still overkill for the power I'm making.
