Even if the rest of the mods weren't ideal, the post says that the mods were the same for (aside from the turbo, obviously) for the comparison.
Normally, a larger turbo with the same restrictions are much laggier then the smaller turbo. I've tuned turbos where an inlet change would pick up 40+whp and 400rpms in spool. Anyhow, the TS 7163 spools very well.

ALL of our basic testing shown is normally stock block, 93 etc... nothing dramatic-

we are actually testing a new CBRD intake on the car- we will see what (if) that does LOL!

I know this probably won't apply to any of you but i'm after a bit of advice. I originally wanted to use an efr 6758 t25 as my power goal isn't any higher as 450, however i can now get a 7163 alu cored ts turbo for only €150 more.

Btw, a 6758 ts is an option too at only €80 more than the ss 6758

It's for a fwd car so torque would be limitted anyway, also i'd have to fab a mani for both so no problem in that regard...

How do ts cars sound compared to ss? Because of the restrictive nature of the original ts turbo it sounds like a coffee machine, wonder how that works out with the BW's.

Your views are highly appreciated!

If i stay in Nasa TT3, i honestly considered a twin scroll 6758. It would allow me to stick to 93 and stay at my power levels which over around 340-350 wheel. I have a feeling it'll also be lighter than the stock turbo.

don't forget the rule change for TT3 next year. 10:1 weight/power ratio and new calculation for average HP, not peak HP anymore.

i'm running stock turbo on stock long block and e85 and i have trouble keeping the HP down this year, i'll actually have to add 200 lbs of ballast for next year.

No official calculators have been released yet, but it seems with all the changes, a 2015 9.0 car with full aero will no be a 9.6 under the new rules on the 2015 calculator. Moving from 9.6 to 10.0 is only like 10-15 hp. Horsepower has a massive influence in the ratio's it seems.

I was previously tuned to 311 Max, and running the calcs it seems my average is 300-303, depending on how you interpret the graph. I'll need to get tuned to a 335-340 hp average to hit 9.6 on the current calculator, which should be a 10.0 on the new calculator if estimates are correct.

Honestly, e85 is great, but with e85 comes a much greater uncertainty in your final weights due to the volume you'll use in a session. From a rules compliance standpoint, 93 is a much better choice of fuel. Your weights will also be more consistent throughout a run, though i doubt most people could feel the difference.

Oh and one more thing. Fuel makes a great ballast

cant imagine that fitting well in the small engine compartment. surely no a/c and the radiator stuffed under the core support. and it still may not fit.

It's an RS so no AC, and tucking the radiator with a pusher fan is the plan.
