I have not given up and plan to switch to a shielded wire for the signal as I believe that may be the issue. Just not high on the priority with the other mods that are in the queue...(new header, GTX3582r, R2 cams).

I spent all this time on prepping the car for E85 and the gas station that was shown to be in my town is now gone and the closest station with E85 is ~30miles away.

I'm suprised to see the losses up top. More compression really should help at higher engine speeds.

Out of curiosity, have you played with cam timing at all? Maybe dial in some more overlap on the low end to see if it helps get rid of the surge and drops peak cylinder pressures a bit and you might be able to get some of the timing advance back.
I have not touched cam timing, but that is something I need to explore. I do run an AEM adjustable cam gear on the exhaust cam so I can make changes. As far as timing advance, I run the Orthodox pulleys and they have no timing marks. I got a nice timing light for Xmas so I will likely swap back the stock pulley to make sure the ignition timing is true to what I have in my map. The Haltech allows me to lock timing and I can then adjust an offset value to make sure timing is accurate based on my base timing map.

Also on the DJ? Your car has 5 gears right? Why not in 4th?

Yes...DJ
3rd gear is pretty standard for dyno runs, but 4th would also work. The boost response would be much quicker in 4th and present significant surge issues.

Yes, the dyno chart would reflect more tq and hp at low rpm

I have been silent lately regarding my progress, but definitely staying busy and making changes to the setup. So my build will take the following path:

- New top mount turbo setup (fabricated by me)
- 3.5" turbo back exhaust 18g 321ss (fabricated by me)
- GSC R2's (Special Thanks to English Racing for their support)
- GTX3582r (getting lonely on the shelf)

I should have the new turbo setup done in April and will baseline the results on the dyno vs the previous short runner setup. I will then swap my S2's for the newly acquired R2's and stick it back on the dyno to show before/after with cam swap. I will finally swap to the GTX3582r for GTX SHOWDOWN PART II.

I won't be posting pics of the new turbo setup until it is complete and tested, but I did want to post a teaser shot to show you can fit a top mount with 3.5" down pipe and still have plenty of room for the AC.

GSC R2's

First off great build thread, your car has been built very well. Few questions:

1. What plug gap are you running with the Bosch coils?
2. Where did you get the Bosch coils from? I've been trying to get my hands on some...
3. Where did you get those sealed relays from - i've seen them used in 24v systems not 12v though...

Sad to see the higher comp motor not make more hp... I think it's interesting that your timing numbers are similar from before to after... That would suggest that your dynamic compression has not changed. What are the chances you cylinder seal is not as good as the factory motor? Possibly poor ring package or bores out of round....

I am actually pleased with the results considering I reduced the timing by as much as 2.5deg and achieved equivalent performance. I did also notice a slight increase in spool so the results are all good.

It will be cool to see the difference that happens from the added runner length.

Are you using the same diameter runners?

A few more teaser pics. I am running a single wastegate using a Tial 44mm for the new topmount TwinScroll setup. Thanks to Drifto for the advice for the divided single wastegate.

Can you post some more pics and explain more how you welded that divider into the merger? Also, more pics of the routing on that manifold. It looks pretty creative.

Good work.
