A red which has a 76mm wheel and I think Kanigawa is a 78mm wheel will have 600-800 RPM better spool.

I think the TD06 housing they use is way too big if I want a cheap turbo rather would go turbolabs.

What spark plugs would you guys recommend at 28-30psi pump gas? my tune is ultra rich, with no zero knock. Ive used ngk bkr8'son race days both they don't last, use mostly ngk bkr7's but have to change or clean them every 2-3months. Ive decided to try some 6's for daily driving on low boost but they seem to foul easily too.

race day is in march hoping to run a pump gas 1:1 mix with c16 and see what ET's I can get with 30psi

The actuator is fine, it begins to open at 19psi and holds the pressure, I cannot see any problem here.

Well, I have removed and inspected the turbo. The flapper is good. Not perfectly centered, but it seals the hole. The flapper surface and the mating face are perfect.
The actuator as I previously said is perfect.

What is REALLY horrible is the exhaust housing. The divider between the two volutes.........see the photos. It completely disappears at a certain point, and even when it is present it is too short in height.
The housing also seems to be really big, too big.
You get what you pay for...a useless turbo.

I assume this is the turbo everyone has bought and refer to on this thread :

http://shopping.kinugawaturbo.com/ki...0ps-4-3-1.aspx

If you choose to buy the above, if you have not one with a billet wheel already installed, buy the billet version of the wheel and install it. You will also need at least a 1,5 bar actuator. I am sure with a proper one used and the billet wheel mated to the td6sl2 wheel it will have a very good boost threshold, spool time and full boost rpm point.

Someone posted previously that the td06 housings are big. For those that do not know this, the td06 chra is used on the evo 9 oem turbos, 70,71,80 series ones.

Also another member said that the 10.5cm2 twin scroll housing he got with the 25g is bigger than the normal unit? So in other words it is not a 10,5cm2? Did you by any chance got the 11,5cm2 housing instead?

These turbos and a variety of others are also produced and sold by MAMBA, check them out.

I thought the Kinugawa housing was an 11.5? So, yes, its bigger. The short volute is likely due not wanting to spend the money for a proper mold, or they didn't want to use a good enough material for the volute to survive.

On the link I posted the hotside is advertised as a 10,5cm2 one.

As for the casting process, the mold is the same for all. In the casting process as with any company doing cast parts, no matter the origin of the company, there is an imperfection factor involved, it is an un-doubtedly, given fact of the process. Fp for instance when they produced their cast exhaust evo 4-9 manifold had some of the units that came out with imperfections. Those units where the flaws did not affect performance were sold at a discounted price, and some were thrown away. The difference between a company that sells quality and another that skips a bit on it, is the fact that the non properly molded cast items are ditched, where another one might choose to sell.

Mine ate the hotside bearing and starting rubbing the compressor housing after 1000 miles. Rebuilt it with MHI parts and put a new tdo6sl wheel/shaft in it. Still rubs the compressor cover. I think the cast of the CHRA are machined wrong or something. When I put the new bearings in the housing they can wiggle a bit. Im assuming thats why mine failed. Anyone want want a Billet turbo on the cheap?

Just bumped in to this thread. Very confused between FP Green and Kinugawa td06sl2r-25g :/

I have an Evo V btw. I am on a budget too :P . This looks like a great deal to me:

So hows your Kinugawa holding up as of today?
