Yes, this is the same idea I have. In a few days I'll remove and disassemble the turbo

Kinugawa oil

What oil lines are you guys running?

Does anyone have experience with kinugawa's oil line? Thinking about running it on an FP turbo, but not sure how reliable it is, and FP's price is a bit steep

Thanks

Sorry took so long to update, car has been down for 3 months at the last drag event cudnt test the kinugawa because damaged 3rd gear fork on the first run.

So far it was very hard making boost on this turbo. the 1.5bar(22psi) wastegate it came with only made 14psi and disconnected made 20psi max boost. I asked here on evoM if the 4-8 wastegate will work and everyone said no it will not fit etc. Pure Lies. Using this wastegate was the only remedy. the kinugawa adjustable wastegate is a fail. tried the evo 5,6.5 and 8 wastegates on it.

using the 6.5 wastegate fully preloaded and nut removed and proper intake(with restrictive intake this turbo will not want to make boost) I was able to achieve more than the boost I desired with a little bending of the shaft. This turbo does not feel at all strong on 20psi compared to the stock turbo. the stock turbo pulled a lot harder. I was able to achieve 28-30psi so left it there .

So in my opinion this turbo needs to be turned up to more than 25psi to really feel the power. So far at 30psi it feels good, the car is more responsive too. I am impressed with how it spools. maybe bcuz I have a 2.3L . this turbo hits 30psi like around 4500-5000RPM and I get wheel spin in 2nd gear and I can feel the car pulling harder in the higher RPM range than with the stock. I'm hoping to lean out my tune a bit, its really rich hitting 9.8AFR's above 7000rpm. im hoping to lean it out to 11.0 and have it make more power with good reliability .

Spool seems slow. And being a bigger turbo, it should make more power at 20psi than the stock turbo. My Red at only 23psi makes more more power than than the stock turbo did on kill mode.

Turbo are a bit laggy but will make 500 WHP fairly easily

I tested this and made 500 WHP at 29 PSI but was hitting full spol at like 4900.

Put an FP Red on the same car made 525 WHP but better power band with full spool around 4200-4400.

I like my dynographs to the left to the left not to the right.

I dont think any other turbo at this price besides turbolab matches this. They are fairly reliable.

I honestly cant complain about the spool now that its on 30psi,feels a lot better than when it was on 20psi, cud be the ****ty waste gate.
I am running stock cams and stock o2 dump, stock manifolds and a overly rich tune which would hinder the turbo from its best spool. car is also on pump gas est 95 oct.
I would love to know how much power im making but no dyno in my country

I'm having the same issue with boost. I got the 1.2 bar 17si actuator they sell them with and no matter how much I turn my mbc knob I can't boost more than 23psi. What actuator is the easiest replacement for the one it comes with to run 30psi as the rest of my car is dying for more boost?

Just installed their 1.7 25psi spring in their adjustable actuator and all I can say is WOW. Don't even bother buying this thing without it because at 30psi and above this thing is a monster for a bolt on turbo. This thing is so much fun now and for just $22 shipped.

nice, been thinking about buying their 1.7 spring but wasn't sure if it was going to work. for no I'm using a TME stock wastegate with not removed and rod bent so it holds boost to 30-28psi but I hav no control over boost this way.

and I cudnt agree with you more at the turbo is more fun at 30psi. it really sucks at low boost levels. I'm running 30psi pump gas and its fun on my 2.3L with stock cams and stock o2 dump.

yes these will hold 28-30 psi its as much I have run. just a very laggy turbo though that needs good octane.

I'm still working on my setup but I ended up going with the arashi billet 25g on my Evo 8 for 819 shipped instead of the kinugawa it's slightly bigger so I'm not sure how that will play out the specs are

- Compressor Wheel:60.4/78..2mm (6+6 25G Billet Wheel)
- Turbine Wheel:58.8/67.1mm (TD06H High Inconel Turbine Wheel )

Hoping for 450 on pump gas and 550 on kill mode with c16 but who knows

Stock head hks 272's, arps, stock bottom end, fic 1450's and a walbro 255. But I may do the walbro 450 and e85

Not sure what you consider laggy but this thing with the upgraded spring is much more responsive and buids full boost sooner. I haven't even tried to turn the wick up but with my boost controller turned down 30psi is easy. I have seen as high as 33psi
