will I be ok with the HD twin disc?? or should I go with a triple???

I dont want an SD triple. I would def get the HD. but I am looking to have something that is nice to drive and not an on-off clutch. I drove an exedy triple on an STi and it feels ok. I wasnt used to it so I had a little hard time the first few stops but then kinda got used to it. believe it or not, I drove it better than I drive my car now with my QM 8leg clutch!!! which I had for almost a year now!! that car I only drove it once!!!!!!! haha.

my brother has the exedy HD twin disc which I LOVE!! drives GREAT! if the triple drive as nice as the twin then I will def get it. thanks
your twin will slip with your new setup go to a tripple hd asap not sure what kinda dyno you get tuned on but in the 450-500 range on a mustang dyno they start to slip the tripples also drive better then the twins you will love it very easy clutch to drive and suppose to hold 800 ft lbs

great I appreciate your response. I guess I will get the triple then.

those are dynojet numbers. I will probably be around 500awtq on a mustang dyno I think?

Thanks

We have around 4 different guys around here with at least that torque running mid to low 10's on twins with no problem. The main issue I have seen is the TOB popping out with high rpm. Not sure how this is possibly fixed with the triple.

hey just wanted to get in on this thread and say I ve had the triple for about 11k miles.. I was making 420whp and 430 tq when i 1st got the triple back in April of 2012. I rebuilt the motor in Sept, and when we pulled the clutch the spline hub a 1st disk were pretty jacked up after 8K miles, and so i replace those parts .. i then got re tuned with the fresh rebuild and made 600whp and 510tq .. i then took a 3k mile road trip .. and recently i couldnt get into 1st or reverse from a stop .. then one night at a light the clutch made the most horrendous noise ever.. metal on metal thrown in a blender ..so i pulled the trans so see what was up ... I was blown away when i saw the disk and hub

keep in mind these have 3k miles on them 99% of which were highway driving .. i went to the track once, have done a handful of pulls .. and i only make 600whp and 510 tq .. so yea needless to say this being my 2nd triple, Im moving on to something else

I'm in the same boat as many of you guys, after 4k miles my hub and discs are all messed up. Disk have plenty of life on them but the center sections are messed up. I'm debating fixing it or moving on to a quartermaster clutch. Anyone use the clutchmasters twin disk?

Right after I posted the pics above I ordered the QM 8 leg and the HRB, threw it and have about 200 miles on it, it amazing, so smooth and effortless to shift, holds the power great (630/540) grabs right away, LIGHT pedal feel super easy to DD. Its not very loud, its not overly aggressive, granted none of that **** bothers me but i still notice haha.. great clutch great design and it being half the price was real nice

OK guys, I just pulled my newest clutch out of the car this weekend. It was ANOTHER brand new Exedy triple, with the HD pressure plate. Clutch has about 4000 miles on it.

Guess what? The first disk is doing the same thing...
