Cool story, you must've missed the 1400whp world record holding Evo8 running an Eagle 88mm forged crank.

You're really just making it sound like this guy doesn't know what he's doing. Blowing up an FP/Xona CHRA isn't "easy"...

They use K1 for up to about 1k, or if they want the lightness for a road race car. Otherwise, Myles said on the 1320video segment on the Drag8 and X at WCF. The 8 has an eagle 88m forged crank in it. Confirmed with someone else at the shop that is what they us for 2.0L drag stuff going into 4 digit and then some territory.

So a properly prepped Eagle crank is the way to go? I was thinking of using a K1 crank if I was to ever do another build, I've never been a fan of Eagle. Admittedly though that was only because I've always regarded them as "lower end". Clearly they're a stout crank if they're holding that type of power.

Thought I'd add more data about cracked cranks

This came out of a 2.4 build that I put about 80k on (My daily Driver) The block/crank came out of a crashed Galant
OEM 7Bolt 4g64 crank
Wiseco 1400HD K626M865
Eagle 150mm (Std Length) Rods
all balanced
No Balance shafts
OEM 2.0 Damper
ACT XTSS
At the time my car was powered by a BB FPBlack
624/525 on e85
524/427 on 92
Rev Limit set to 7800

I finally swapped engines due to horrible leakdown numbers and replaced it with a long rod version of the same engine.
A couple weeks ago I decided to tear down the 80k block and freshen it up! During the cleaning process I found the below crack on #4 (clutch to the left)

That's quite odd. Half of the point of an undercut radius is to keep it from cracking there.

I think a heavier flywheel will help reduce the stress in crank #4 journal.

I think you got your money’s worth out of that crank. Stock cranks flex some at those levels so they have a somewhat of a service life.

Callies cranks are pricey, but their cranks are flawless, meticulously polished pieces of art......no sharp edges on those cranks! I’ve only seen one sbc Callies, but it was beautiful.

He hasn't responded yet. There are some shops locally, but many come and go.

It's a pity what happened to the gentleman's crank. And comments above can escalate quickly. I personally know the shop named and can vouch for their work. That being said sometimes iiissshhh happens whether it be a faulty part or fault of the machine shop or builder. I think it happens at all shops to some degree. Hope the OP gets his beast up and running again with no issues.
