It's a long story. Someone created an account with Aaron's name, so he did it back. Only problem is, he became known but with the other guy's name as his account.

We were told "Never seen that before" when we sent a pallet of them in. We micro fractured a 94mm Winberg as a result of a 1-2-1 dogbox issue where normally a crank is the last thing that would have an issue. The only time we see issues is above 1100whp or in endurance racing. The only Eagle to ever break had a long history at 700whp on a pump meth setup, survived two mis shift events and one was violent enough to break an H beam. It took 10 years before it broke and it broke at 600whp on a big turbo on E85 and even then I feel it was driver error...again. Each manufacturer has slightly different method to their oiling, chamfer on the counterweight area and oiling holes, all things that make them unique. All of them strive to improve their product but I doubt anyone that has made power hasnt seen one break, whether they talk about it or not is an entirely different matter. I would never make judgement of quality based on X has run yyy amount and never seen a problem. Chances are they have and you just dont know about it.

All screen name joking aside, Certainly great having you out here Aaron @JohnBradley

Joe

Seriously it is a pleasure!
Love all of John’s (Aaron’s) posts!
This one is probably the best thread ever for me, all a$$kissing aside seriously!

Aaron quick question,
were a majority of your broken cranks at the oil hole?
If so, is that why the Eagles are stronger, because of the on center drilling instead of a cross drilled crank?

Thanks Joe Also the JB special is only 15% over retail not 20% :P

Yeah the real John Bradley wrapped his Evo around a tree a decade ago and has a minivan these days. I never changed it as was pointed out I got known by this name rather than my real name.

I am not on here much anymore as I live on the dyno more or less. Rereading that thread brought back a lot of memories, thanks for linking that. All of the cranks that have fully broke are at #4 next to the clutch. Microfractures have been in the oiling hole but we havent seen that in the Eagle. Your guess is as good as mine whether its material used, nature of the oiling hole, chamfering, heat treatment, etc. Seems like there are LOTS of options that could contribute.

The K1 is lighter weight and just fine to 1000whp, the eagle is stronger though.

The definite take away is to stay away from Manley cranks.
