I'm not comparing it to a twin scroll 7163. Vband vs Vband.

I've driven the G30-770 2.2L car I posted in here multiple times, its extremely responsive.

@letsgetthisdone can you share any data from that car?

Something like this?

Quote: . Not to mention it responds the same or better than a stock turbo on the street.
that would interest me.

Quote: So, this is a 2.2L Evo8 (no mivec), Hess games pocket port head, GSC S2's, Curt Brown ported intake and 65mm throttle body, ETS 3.5" intercooler and Vband turbo kit, G30-770 .82 AR vband hotside. Walbro 525 pump and FIC 1650 hi-z injectors. 614whp at 29psi, we ran out of fuel. But Aaron feels like he could easily push the turbo to 36-37psi based on how it was still picking up boost with more wastegate duty cycle.

It has 300wtq at 4300 and 400wtq at 4650.

It's more responsive on the street than the dyno sheet makes it seem. Definitely an awesome turbo setup.
Quote: Thanks! I'm stoked with how it ended up.

That was E80 in the tank. It's a full flex fuel tune though. It made 456whp at 21psi on 91 octane pump gas.

The Dyno Graph I posted previously is all I have unfortunately.

I scrolled up through the entire thread and didn't see it, unless it was a link or video? Could you repost it?

@RSMike , I actually found a spread sheet I had. pulls from 2k rpms in 1-4, and then a 1-4 rip.

The spool is not impressive with the open scroll housing so curious how it will look with a twin scroll.

Its not represented by the graph. It drives much better than it would seem, and being in the right gear, it's never an issue to be in boost. It revs to 8900 and makes good power up there. 5000-8900rpm powerband in 2nd is pretty solid, 4500-8900 in 3rd is a broader powerband than any high strung N/A engine. 130psi at 17rpm isn't the only important factor in building a car.

Also worth noting, boost is different in every gear because we have the boost by gear setup as such. Not because the car was being wonky.

Are you limiting boost in 4th to go easy on the transmission?

Then what does the graph represent? The G30-770 is lazy with an open scroll, especially considering its just a 5855. If you can decrease the lag with a twin scroll and make similar power, the car will absolutely be more fun to drive.

"High" boost in 3rd was right at the limit of 90-92% injector duty cycle. Since its a track car, we backed off 4th and 5th to make sure things stayed happy.

In your head, you're compariung the g30 to Zack's g25 results, which is on a mivec engine, and your setup, which is also a mivec engine. The car I'm posting with a g30 doesn't have Mivec, which is worth all of 500rpm in boost threshold. Its not really apples to apples.

But, i never said the g30 couldn't use a divided housing. I said the G25 doesn't need one.
