my question is...is this p0300 vibrating issue will harm the motor or the car? or will it just annoy the hell out of everyone including myself?

I don't think anyone knows the answer to this for sure. It sure as hell is annoying, and it seems that it would be detrimental over time, but there's no evidence confirming that.

I got my ECU reflashed, I still have the stumble... But unlike you, I am not worried. My car is not even close to stock at this point so I could have other issues that could cause the misfiring (lightweight flywheel comes to mind )

You shouldn't have to retune at all.

From what I understand, the new flash is just allowing the ECU more "fudge factor" before throwing a P0300. The program from the factory is so sensitive that it is picking up harmonics generated from the drivetrain and interpreting it as knock.

If you let the dealership reflash you ecu for the random mifire don't count on anyone tuning your ecu, Mitsu will lock it out. I'm fighting that battle right now trying to get my ecu flashed back to the old revision. Tried to get Shiv to Xflash my ecu and he could not do anything with it since Mitsu flashed it. Now I'm screwed unless I can 1 get another ecu out of a another car. or two get Mitsu to reverse the flash to the old version. Sucks to be me.

I'm stating the reason why you shouldn't have to retune your SAFC. The fuel/ignition maps have not changed. Just the sensitivity of the knock sensor.

I don't know how to do a poll but after studying my car and my buddies (we both have evo 8's, mine is 03 and his is 04) we were both throughing p0300 codes avery 60 miles or so all winter then as soon as the ethanol was taken out of our gas BAM not a single code for either of us since JAN 31st when it was gone. that's just my experience but could the ethanol be causing the engine to vibrate differently harmonically? does anyone have regular gas that is throughing the code? I live in nevada so we have 91 oct and they add ethanol in the winter to keep it from freezing.
