Same thing with me. After I had cams installed, i started getting the P0300 CEL. Mine is also triggered at idle. Someone on the NorcalEVO board has the latest flash from
and seems to be doing the trick.

Sorry, I may have missed this while doing a search. How do the P0300 codes affect the cars’ ability to pass emissions? Will it receive an automatic failure?

Now you're at the crux of why Mitsu might need to be responsible here. An irrepairable problem with emissions will get you federal attention damned quick. It will extend beyond the powertrain warranty.

I've heard that often when this occurs the car will act like it's running on fewer cylinders, stumbling, etc. I have this problem and the symptoms seem consistent with this. If that's the case there's some gas not being burned I'd believe so, yes, emissions MAY be a big issue...

Yeup!! Not to mention you can't pass smog in Cali with a freakin CEL now can you?

nine4surfah, that is essentially the issue now, because thus far no reflash offered by Mitsu has fixed this problem 100%. It may lessen it, or it may hide it better, but the problem is still there.

My Evo triggered the P0300 twice in a total of 76k miles; just got the latest flash from Mistu and now I get the CEL too much. I either have to drive my car slower than 80mph or faster than 90mph to not tirgger the code. what a pain!

Bahahah!! I knew it wouldn't hold up!! I got the ECU flash ~20k miles ago, and a new tranny ~11k miles ago that was supposedly going to "fix" my P0300. But nope. Yesterday driving on the highway I got it again. Stupid . Looks like it's time for an EMS now.

Vishnu is selling the CReader OB2 scanner which suppresses the P0300 code from happening. Apparently, you just plug it in and stuff it under the dash. It's a pretty small unit. You may want to check it out.
