Random Misfire 0300: Dealership reflash available...

My car is now idling better than it has since I got it (March 03) and acceleration is significantly smoother, no stutter in 3rd between 3500 and 4000 any more.
Don't know if I had the same problem originally, but the new ECU seems to have fixed whatever was causing it ....

I get no CEL, but I def get an intermittent stumble at ~4500 rpm. I thought this always threw a cel?
On a side note, would a reflash, such as a custom tune from TurboTrix relieve the problem or is that outside the parameters? I assume if my problem is just fuel cut, the reflash WOULD fix it, right?
Thanks,

re: always ... the only always I've ever encountered is that if you buy a nice car, somebody will always put a ding in it ...

I got the CEL light and the car's computer logs all the info. when then light comes on. The dealer told me i was doing 76MPH at 3500 RPM and they are aware of the technical service bulletin. Unfortunately, dealer is claiming they are having problems downloading the flash from the internet onto their computers....
FYI, my car only had approx 600 miles on the odometer when this occured

I have it too, Goes on afetr 70 miles goes off after 70 miles and so on. I hope Turbo Trixx can help me with this, as I have now read that if I allow mitsu to re-tune my car, I lose thier custom map.
don't complain yet if you get an SES after the reflash
ok, check this out:
tuesday I got my dealer reflash...great , engine noticeably smoother (didn't miss the XFlash), idle was great, etc.
thursday - the damn SES light comes on, so i was discouraged ..... that damn stumble on 5th gear, ya know
friday - SES light disappears as I started the car, going home from work
GREAT, FANTASTIC!!
In my opinion, the flash works
that's how SES lights get corrected; they disappear after a 10th or so cycle.
this is my experience.
if you get an SES light after the reflash, I suggest you drive it for a bit. It might correct itself, as I have experienced
cheers

we all know some cars come w/ more power then other.. for instance someone car may be stock and dyno'd at 240whp while another stock evo may be dyno'd at 220whp...
do you think this dealer reflash might help me out if my evo is underpowerd.....

cokofella, I hope you don't get it again. I have had LESS instances of the p0300 but they are still occuring and in the same fashion.
My update is that I had an issue with my exhaust at the dealership so I am tossing on JanSolo's turboback to take it back to the dealership so they can diagnose the issue again. PM me if you want more details.

Cr0mster, I completely agree. Incidentally I haven't had the issue in 2 days now, which is more than I ever went without it since I started having the problem pre-reflash. Still, I am having it looked at regardless because I know it will occur again in the future.
It's almost as if they just reprogrammed it to say "well if it happens X number of times, THEN throw the code, otherwise, just ignore it until X".
