Random Misfire 0300: Dealership reflash available...
I bet the guys with this problem are running open element air filters and/or intakes.
I started getting this code at 25K with no mods. I would get it about every 300 miles. I got the flash from Mitsu and now it's been running CEL free for 1500 miles.

Yes it has been proven that this problem has nothing to do with modifiying your vehicle, unless of course your mods are causing a specific misfire. Redcloud glad you have seemingly had the problem cured.
Any of you guys noticing a problem upon starting the your cars? I have the obddiagnostics.com reader and recently reset the PO300 code. Afte resetting it I noticed that the car cranks then hesitates and cranks again then starts. It happens faster than that obviously but, there definately is a hesitation prior to it actually starting.
I had this problem previously to and it actually did not start all together twice. I didn't have the diagnostic tool then so I just unhooked the battery to reset the ECU and the car started fine. F*!king
.
I definatelky agree with thsi being more than just a sporadic problem, the P0300 code that is. Now if only there was some way of letting Mitsu no about this
I haven't tried the dealer refalsh but once the CEL comes back on again I'll have the reflash done.

Just to add to this...it doesn't work
. For what it's worth. The idle feels noticeably smoother. And actually it went about 110 miles like that until it started stumbling again and set the ses light off again. Same circumstances-- 35-3700 rpm light throttle just enough to maintain speed.

Oh well...it was worth a try.

*Knocking on woods* :P
650 Miles and still no SES light yet!
I will report after a few more thousand miles.
I had the P0300 code and the SES light come on and off (mostly ON) since the first few hundred miles. No internal mods, and always on 93 octane. This is the first 650 (actually the first 50 miles) without the SES light. I may be just lucky, so, good luck to those in need.
And if you still have the SES light after the reflash, try and remove piggyback like an SAFC and such, and see if the prob go away. If that doesn't help, then one or more of your cylinder may actually be knocking on heaven's door. Have an engine shop check it out for you.
To those that wanna have the dealer re-flash, you should remove all/any piggyback ECU or standlone. The dealers are told not do it if they see any type of device that appears to be conencted to the stock ECU. Don't give them a reason to refuse the work.
Any aftermarket reflash (W0rks,Dyn0flash and such) will be erased and put back to stock (with the exception of some binary values in refference to the CAS).

My i/c piping is 100% tight as all hell, and I was still getting this problem. Today marks about 150 miles since my last p0300 misfire, so maybe it will stay away. We'll see.

Reflash is working, so far....
I got my ECU Reflashed yesterday morning, after reading all the posts by those who went through the process before me. Thanks to all for the great info (By the way, same billing code 13850113 as mentioned in previous posts was on my invoice).
My only issue was the dealership that I bought the car from (which has since changed ownership) still had no idea about the misfire fix. So i called around on saturday and got another local dealer. Spoke to the service manager and he said "No problem, we can fix that." So if your dealer is clueless, try to call a few others if possible
Anyway,. I took the car in, waited just under an hour, and after 80 miles, NO SES LIGHT. Yahoo.
I even tested it out on the highway, where the light typically would have come on, and nothing.
So far so good, anything changes Ill post.
