Notchy Ass Gears!!!!
I have a 06 mr.
My shifts were notchy the first 1K miles but it's been very smooth after that.
I havent changed the fluid or anything (gonna wait til I hit 10K).
I do however get crunchy shift from 1-2 but that is very seldom (maybe once a week).
So far, zero lockout on any gear.
Least to say I am very happy with the tranny and shifts.

I'm really liking the newer Amsoil GL4 in the tranny... I used to really like the Pennzoil Synchromesh. However, the Amsoil seems to shift just as well with a more "cushioned" feel and should last a lot longer (not shear down easily).
You might want to give it a try...

I just switched over to the Amsoil MTG in my 6MT. It seems to make the 1->2 shifting a little smoother than the stock Diaqueen, but not as much as I had hoped

True, but the Pennzoil is a few dollars cheaper at your local autoparts store.
I officially will no longer used the Synchromesh after using the Amsoil. I'm liking it more and more everyday, and it should last a long time.
