It depends upon which dealer you go to,some dealers are cool and others are not, and try to make friends at the service dept.

i'm going to have to go in and speak with the service manager at my dealer to see how strict they are on warranty issues.

Lemon law?

I am surprised so many 9s are having the grind and other problems seen on some of the 8s. I have 50k on my 350+whp VIII and have not had to do a single thing (besides tires, brake pads, and just put in a new clutch)

What kills me is the U.S. factory brochure for the Evolution IX. If I were litigating the case or deposing the service rep that would be my Exhibit Number 1: It says "modify" throughout as a kind of mantra, basically encouraging owners to modify their cars. It has a whole section discussing the annual meet for owners of modified Evos. It never says a word about warranty limitations, instead trumpeting the car's wonderful warranty.

On top of that is your documented record of problems with the same parts of your car, preceding your modifications. Puh-lease. I predict a rapid, favorable settlement.

It may not say not to modify your car in the brochure but it definatly says it in the warranty info book.
