Warranty Issues <Mega Merge>
hagakure- thats just ignorance. The guy said he doesnt abuse the car, he has no reason to lie. If they've seen the mods on the car then i'd just leave them on there. Someone mentioned the lemon law thing before, and I'd agree with him. If they have to replace the same "substantial" part in three months then its lemoned. What they are doing is pretty normal stuff. My brother bought a AWD chrysler minivan a year ago and they replaced the transmission twice then sent in a rep to look at the car. Instead of replacing it a third time, they elected to lemon the car and my brother got his money back. Needless to say, he went out and bought a honda minivan.
even if you have mods on your car...if the t-case broke before the clutch did then somehting is wrong...and everyperson that has worked on trannies before will know that...the T-case should not go uless the clutch is gone

Are all of the transfer cases you are getting out of a bad batch? What are the chances of this? I'm thinking driver error has a lot to do with this, one way or the other. Mits has been gracious with you by replacing two of them. I would not have replaced the second without direct evidence that the part in question was defective or weak.

Question, did the TC just bust, or what were the circumstances surrounding the problem? Mine started whining and the noise got worse quickly. I took it in immediately and they dropped a little oil out, with a bunch of metal shavings. I didn't here any clank or loud noise, it just started whining and got worse. I took it in before I had any drivability issues. That replaced it under warranty - with aftermarket clutch (and they knew about it). They were pretty chill about it.
oh one more thing...the mods the he has added...will not cause enough strain...on the car to do any damage...thats just like driving the car with four people in it all the time...and doing that should not stress the car enough to break either the clutch(which depend on how you drive) and especially not the Tcase

It's not ignorance....I just don't buy it. Just like I don't buy the majority of assertions that people's clutches are failing without abuse. If the guy had gone through 1 T-case...maybe. But three? All three defective? What are the odds? Just my opinion. no one has to agree with it.

Do NOT put it back to stock. As long as it is just the intake and exhaust, you should keep your warranty. most Mitsu dealers allow basic mods like the intake and exhaust, they just go ape**** when you mess with anything that can change the boost levels.
I broke 3 in under 7000 miles, 2nd one in under 150 miles. stock clutch minor mods. 3rd one fine with considerable mods and aftermarket clutch. All you idiots have no idea what you are talking about. Transfer cases do break without wheel hop and clutch drops. And the lemon law thing is not as easy as them giving you a new car. It is a long drawn out process. Some of you people are so stupid you amazes me. If mine breaks again it is out of here. Why do you think mitsu puts heavier oil in the TC now?.
Hmm, I think that you should atleast put the cat back onto the car just so they dont try to pull anything with that and if you have an MBC it would probally be wise to remove that or hide it. If you make everything go back to stock and they've known about mods that will be quiet weird.
You are out here calling names, "idiots", etc.....All I am doing is disagreeing with you, not questioning your intelligence. All I postulated was that the odds of you breaking three transfer cases without some driver error being involved are very, very small. You would need to get three poorly construicted ones in a row. It's dubious at best, you can call names all day.
