Another Evo to S2k thread.....
Because I am on quest for factual information, I thought I'd post a link to an organization which shows the results from various road racing events (again, without any biases):
http://www.speedventures.com/results/Default.aspx
As you can see, there are all kinds of Evos and S2000s competing against each other and it is a mixed bag as to who wins each event. What does this mean? There isn't a clear winner and both perform very well in road racing.

Well EvoM I haven't been an entirely HUGE active member on this board, but I have a post or two. I had been battling back and forth about selling my Evo after owning it for roughly 3 years. So my friend let me drive his Ap1 S2k around for a week and I was instantly hooked on it. I have never in my life felt a better gear box. I love the way it shifts and I also love where everything is positioned on the car. I love where the stereo controls are and having cruise control is something I had forgotten. Secondly, I used to get a good bit of attention in the Evo, but the attention I got in the S2k outdid the Evo by far. Not that that really matters, but it damn sure feels good. The s2k really feels like an extension of my body, I guess because it's so small lol. Although not flashy, the interior is very nice and I'm extremely happy with it and happen to like it more than the Evo as well. The handling of the s2k is unbelievable and even though it is not as fast as my Evo, it still felt nice and quick.
Anyways, after driving it around for a while I just had to have one. I put the Evo up for sale and it was sold in less than two weeks. I purchased a 2003 black on black AP1 already equipped with a spoon exhaust and testpipe. So I'll list my opinion on the Pros and Cons of switching to the s2k
Pros:
1. Looks better inside and out IMO
2. Transmission is ungodly
3. Interior controls are more abundant than the Evo. (You can do much more)
4. Drop top of course
5. The S2k community is more friendly here in VA.
6. CHEAPER INSURANCE BY FAR!! And I'm 25 years old.
7. 9k Rev limiter and pulls wonderful from vtec engagement to 9.2k
8. Handling is far superior in my opinion.
Cons:
1. Even though it has little nooks here and there, storage is limited.
2. Very small car. If you're a big guy, this car is not for you. (I'm 5'11 186 lbs)
3. No more AWD and you don't get that "throw back" feeling
4. Definitely a bit slower.
5. All the convertible tops of s2k's are a bit squeaky after time
6. 2 seats, so no more riding the friends around. (Hell I didn't do that anyway
)
So even though, in my opinion, there are just as many cons as pros, the cons aren't really cons to me. But they may weigh heavily on your decision to make the move because we're all different and have different tastes. As I've said before, this is all just my opinion. For the 3 years I had the Evo it was a blast and a great car. I'd do it again of someone asked me. However, I couldn't be happier with my black on black s2k

You guys sure are funny.
Of course such a small car like the s2000 isn't for 300 pound 6 foot 5 football players. Be more sensible. But are you really going to bash on it for that?
Need more power? Go FI
Need more space? LOSE SOME WEIGHT

Unless I am mistaken you posted some "facts" from a tuner magazine which, anybody in their right mind, knows has its own biases. Yes, according to that article an Evo ran quicker than an S2000 in a road racing event. Does that in and of itself make an Evo quicker than an S2000 in road racing? No. Find some sort of national standings for road racing which show that a competent Evo driver is out-performing a competent S2000 driver consistently in road racing and you will have yourself a factual winner.
THOSE ARE THE BEST TIMES BOTH OF THE CARS IN STOCK FORM HAVE EVER POSTED ON THOSE TRACKS. The drivers were pro race car drivers.
DAMN
Get over it.
If you look at Tskuba lap times, you'll also see that the evo hold the best lap there too. Along with a bunch of other tracks.
THESE ARE ALL FACTS. So far you provided the fact that S2k are better at AutoX and i accept that. Why cant you accept my facts??????
Again, I am by no means hating on the Evo (remember I own one
) and simply trying to pimp the S2000. I am simply trying to rid the tunnel vision which most Evo owners seem to have. 1. California is a 50/50 state. So, what's mine is mine and what's my wife's is mine too! Also, we co-financed the vehicle.
2. I am not the thread starter.
dude if anybody have tunnel vision that is you ...
just one for you again...:/ if you can't find the s2000, i think we can replace it easy with the lotus... don't you agree? since its a better road race car/

I actually thought they do better then that.

also ... over 4 sec...
i think i will finish with this arguement. its pointless, now i don't even know why i get into, i find only one case when the S2000 was faster. But they run a different group based on driver skills, the s2000 driver was in the red and the evo in the blue. wich means the red driver know the track better so it is a better driver. might be an instructor.
I was sure the S2000 is a very capable car and i still like it . But i thought based in this argument ,i thought it is a better car. I'm kind of dissapointed.
so my case is closed here.
