I do like s2k. it's fun to drive for sure. But in that matter so the miata too, etc. I understand you sit lower ,car smaller ,so its feel way faster then actually it is in the Evo. But to saying is a better road race car then the evo...
oh boy.

 

I drove my friends S2k on the track I must say it is much more of a drivers car than the EVO (I think the evo is too smart for it own good on the track). I race a Spec Miata in SCCA and I have more fun in that thing than my Evo. The S2K is a Miata on steriods IMO. Rwd FTW!

3 S2000s in the Top 5 for A Stock class

S2000 wins first place with a overall score of 89.180. Quickest lap time was 46.538.

Page 31-32:

2 Evos in the Top 5 for Street Touring Ultra

Evo gets third place with an overall score of 92.671. Quickest lap time was 48.530.

Boy, the Evo sure is superior to the S2000 in autocrossing/road racing. The Evo, without a doubt, has the upper hand (in stock form) in drag racing, but in no way, shape or form is it superior to the S2000 in autocrossing/road racing.

 

I agree, I loved my s2k when I had it but handling better than our evo's, i dunno... For sure it was a lot more effort to keep that baby from spinning out and correcting that tail slide in those aggressive corners..! Sure was fun though!
Plus, the S2ki community was definately a cult! haha!

 

Like I mentioned before, it takes more skill to competitively drive the S2000 then the Evo. It doesn't matter if it is autocrossing, road racing or drag racing. The RWD vs. AWD aspect of it is a big factor and a novice cannot simply get behind the wheel of an S2000 and run fast. On the other hand, a novice can drive an Evo and produce decent times.

I have BOTH cars and am the most UNBIASED person on this forum when comparing both cars. I love them both for what they are, and neither one should be discounted in any way.

To the haters--sack up and realize that your ego is greater than your car's potential.

 

I've driven both, I own an Evo 9 and my father owns an S2K.

If I lived in a warmer climate I would have an S2K. AWD ftw in snow!

No. Not at all. There currently isn't an S2000 in the world that would compete with the fastest Evos in the 1/4 mile. No dispute. I was simply posting a video of a pretty quick S2000. Full interior. Stock motor. Not too shabby.
