Good thread,

just to add.....had the works short shifter, I was not happy with the action from 1st to 2nd grinding on occasion (took it out, back to stock) just left the previously installed brass under hood bushings with polyurethane shifter base bushings. The action remains very crisp throws a bit longer but much smoother.

one question......is there a pill or restrictor in the vacum lines on the stock IX BOV, or WG actuator?

I thought I heard of something like this somewhere.......thanks for the 411

Yes, one of the stock BCS lines has a restrictor in it. You can buy replacement pills or more simply just buy a MBC and be done with it since they're the cheapest, easiest, and most effective.

The mods think its too biased towards certain products/vendors/shops, but I only recommend what I've used and trust, simple as that.

This thread is great info, but unfortunately as Kracka said he only is going off what he knows. It's not necessarily biased but it's his opinion and isn't fair to all vendors/parts alike.

This is one hell of thread.

I have to get a new clutch soon and I can't afford power mods right now so I'm just gonna do the stuff that centers around a clutch job (sorta):

I searched this site for hours (and the internet generally a little) researching every one of these decisions (except for BLOX and Crank Vents, pretty much took Kracka's word on them). As always I read conflicting info as to whether aluminum brass or poly bushings, how all of this will work together, whether clutch lines are worth a damn, etc, but I think this is probably going be a good set of mods.

MAPerformance says Fidanza has discontinued their shortshifter and I couldn't order it from them (I had already added it to my cart and was calling to confirm it had the base bushings).

So I tried to get it from VR Speed Factory

I was able to order it but who knows if it is actually available, I couldn't get anyone on the phone at 5:30 at night.

I know it's not $100 at a time but this is gonna be the first group of mods I do:

EVO Clutch Job+ Parts List

OEM Clutch - Ordered!
http://vr-speed.com/store/mitsubishi...on-p-1183.html
Fidanza Short Shifter Ordered!??? NEED TO CONFIRM!!! COMES WITH Base Bushings ??? NEED TO CONFIRM!!!
http://vr-speed.com/store/fidanza-sh...ion-p-763.html
Prosport Boost Gauge - Ordered!
http://vr-speed.com/store/prosport-c...ric-p-702.html
Works Poly Underhood Bushings - Ordered!
http://www.maperformance.com/works-s...g-kit-evo.html
Crankvents - Ordered!
http://www.maperformance.com/map-cra...acuum-kit.html
SS Clutch Line (Technafit) - Ordered!
http://www.maperformance.com/techna-...-line-evo.html
BLOX front motor mount - Ordered!
http://www.speedelement.com/index.ph...mart&Itemid=38

I also looked around for these

Upper pivot cup (part # MR246296 Retainer+gearshif) and #MR232147 (2) tiny cups for ball ends
and found them cheapest here:
http://oemmitsubishiparts.com/

The Crank Vent is not really related to shifting/clutch like all the rest but I was ordering from MAPerformance Anyway and it was only $45 and there seems to be a consensus that it's a pretty good idea so.....

Eff it. There it is.

They say they can get the Fidanza short shifter but that it doesn't come with the base bushings. Dang. Now I have to source the base bushings. I'm partial to Kart boy's rep and I think I want to stick with poly. But the Energy Suspension are only $19.00 at VR:

http://vr-speed.com/store/engery-shi...on-p-1756.html

I already searched EvoM but didn't find much info on Energys.

Anyone have an opinion?

Damnitt. VR can't get it either. Now I've gotta redo my Short Shifter search. Leaning toward Kartboy if it comes with the base bushings which I still need.

Here is the shifter you want: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/01-02...Q5fCarQ5fParts

Exact same as the Fidanza, B&M, etc. but at a fraction of the price. It includes the shifter base bushings too.
