Are cops attracted to the average Evo or average Evo driver?
I feel color and wing play a factor...
I for one have BBY and it attracts attention EVERYWHERE, I have a clean driving record and am rarely on the car(unless needed, passing merging etc)
Yes I do have a decent amount of work, but people look at me regardless if I am stopped at a light or not, I take meticulous care of my car and make sure it looks showroom quality, always...
But I did however get pulled over last week at night by a Mass State trooper, merging between that "awkward gap of 2 cars" and sure enough in the left line cruising at 85/90 was a state trooper and I blew past em... pulled me over, I was honest with him and everything, called me out on no front plate, told him that I just got it back from the body shop, handed him my receipt for $1400 stamped 2 hours ago. He was understanding...
Asked how fast I was going, I said 75/80 and he responded with a "Not even close"
Checked my record, and he told me to be careful, because I obviously drive a fast car, and that next time I wouldnt get a warning.
And that was that...
I am never "harassed" by cops around my part(Knocks on wood)

I can't believe a statey let you go. You are one lucky ****!
I never get harassed either. The only times I've been pulled over have been when I was speeding so I 100% deserved it. Never had any issues as far as tint or exhaust or anything else that some people get pulled over for and I've been daily driving mine since it was brand new in 06.

Yeah when you know you're in the wrong, should just accept it. But yeah nothing but love around here! Except from the WRX's they are all "race warriors" STI's on the other hand are cool usually..
I have gotten singled out due to owning(that I know of) 1 of 4 evos in my town. Ive been pulled over for no license plate, exhaust, and license plate light being out. No ticket for any of them, but each time they made me pop my hood and went through the whole 9 yards asking me what parts were legal and not. I havent drivin my car in over a year now due to a long project im using the car for and ive run into the same officers and they still ask me if I have the car. Police in my town, pull any car over thats nice or has any type of visible modification. Fair warning to all, never go to morgan hill CA.
Wow the cops in my area must be pretty easy compared to you guys, I drive a black cobalt with a high rise wing, blacked out tail lights, tinted windows, loud exhaust, no front plate, and loud bpv. Wonder how different it will be with the Evo? Guess I'll find out.
Seems to me (from my experience and the experience of my friends) it's all in the attitude you take when you drive and how you behave. I drive my car no more than 5 mph over the speedlimit and obay all traffic laws, and I never get pulled over. yet my friend with a semi loud exhaust and loud sound system gets pulled over in his grand prix all the time.

you know what, i think i dont get pulled over in the evo because i dont have tinted windows, its stock appearing on the outside, and i always hang just under 10mph over the speed limit even when passing cops on the hwy.. No tints, stock car, not slowing down when passing the cop, He must not have anything to hide, lets go tail the honda
oh, can;t forget about the baby seat that never leaves the backseat
thats a helper as well

Cops are attracted to cars that have a reputation for street racing and to people who drive like asshats (not saying all evo owners drive like asshats but no one buys an evo to drive like grandma either). So the answer to your question is A, B, and all of the above

I get that a lot too, my response is its easy to fast, but its even easier to get your baby a trip to the impound. Don't get me wrong I love getting on it when I get the chance but there is a time and a place for everything and that time or place isn't in traffic. But all my buddies drive trucks and jeeps so they just don't understand that your basically a red cape in a bull fight whether you want the attention or not. and i really dont think that their is "WAY" an evo should be driven, i know guys who build monsters and i know guys that just get flashy, nothing wrong either one.
I get pulled over basically constantly regardless of driving style. I've been pulled over for 19 in a 25, and given a ticket for "excessive speed" where the officer said it sounded like I was doing 90 mpg. SOUNDED.
My car is low, limo tinted, debadged, loud, caged, and has the factory wing... so I can't say I'm surprised at the negative attention, but it is absolutely profiling because I'll see officers do a 180 degree turn and trail me for 5+ miles on a regular basis when I'm driving exactly the speed limit, in the slow lane, at low rpms. Partly its the area I live... most of the cops around here are incredibly bored and have nothing better to do than harass people. Also they wouldn't give a domestic car with open headers and a plume of smoke a second glance, but an import... your *** is screwed. The only exception I've seen is when I got tagged completely legitimately by laser doing 25 over north of Baltimore... the cop knew my shop and used to own an STi, so he gave me a warning and talked cars with me for several minutes. Very cool dude. I honestly hadn't been aware I was going that fast, and I drove home at the speed limit the whole way.

You skip over the guy saying "F-the-police" and attack the one guy who mentioned using votes at the city level to change things? Why does that bother you so much? Clearly as people above are saying, some of them are just bored. That means over funded.
Part of being a true Patriot is stripping public funds from wasteful services and providing them to services in need. I've voted in every single election I've been legally of age to participate in. We have people here dying from 40+ minute Ambulance response times. Detroit is the worst in the nation for EMS services! If cops are out harassing people over tint and exhaust, you are going against your community by not correcting the funding problem when Grandma waits an hour for a wagon. I happen to live in Troy which is actually rated the safest city in the whole state. Our police are oddly quite nice as long as you don't have an attitude with them. You must be confusing me with someone who gives them problems or gets a lot of tickets. It's been years since I've been ticketed personally and I have no problem with them.....
I'm really not one to argue however, your opinion is yours.

+1 on the guys above.
I usually drive like most of the rest of you it seems, kinda putt around most of the time -- 5mph over the speed limit unless me and the gf are running late to get somewhere (which happens somewhat frequently). Haven't been pulled over yet in this car *knock on wood* but I've been followed for 2-3 miles from the highway to my house before though. Twice now, actually, I pulled into my driveway and just kinda raised my hands like "I dunno what you want man." Boring ride home, I followed all the traffic laws (even pushed some of them to give them some hope, I had my stock exhaust back then so I could go kinda high in revs and you couldn't really tell)... was waiting for them to flip their lights so they'd just stop following me.
When I pass them I can feel their eyes on me though, even last night I passed a McDonalds and a cop in the parking lot started to go from parked to starting to pull out of the lot, but another cop was just pulling in so he reversed back into his spot haha.
