Are cops attracted to the average Evo or average Evo driver?
I get pulled over all the time! I drive the speed limit. Most of the time they drive behind me for about 2-5 miles. A lot of times they'll be going the opposite direction and pull a U Turn to get behind me. I've been pulled over several times for the officer to ask where I'm going. One time for missing front plate,
The last ticket I received (last month) was for a louder than stock exhaust. I was at a gas station filling up and he pulls up behind me to "fill up" too
I start the car and immediately he pulls me over. Just started it up, pulled ssslllooowwwlllyyy up to the light and bam, too loud of an exhaust.
I measured it at 95 db. Funny thing was that a Harley a half a block a way rides by is so loud it rattles my windows. They got to be well over 100 db. I switched back to stock exhaust and lost 25 hp/tq
I'm going to take the wing off, debadge and get ix tail lights. I already painted the brembo's flat black. I'll see how it goes, but I may take the tint off too or go with a lighter tint. I might just bolt down a VW bug body over it and call it a day.

I think there are a lot of variables in it. I think as already said it most definitely plays a factor where you are, and how the cops are there. Because as well all know lets say state troopers act differently then road Deputy's. So its a numerous amount of things but i do think the evo will get more looks from cops. I guess it could be about what you're doing and how fast you're driving when they decide to look.
am I the only one that just gets "step out of the car" no matter what it is
one officer asks me all kinds of questions as the other searches my car.
i dont see any relationship between a loud exhaust and narcotics/drugs being in my car
its usually this:
give registration/licence/paperwork
officer says exhaust is loud
i say i have had it measured and is within sound standards (politely)
officer tells me to get out of car
i cooperate 100% everytime. i know i have nothing to hide to it just deal with it. they find nothing and either write me a exhaust ticket or let me go.
perhaps my age doesnt help out the whole situation, nor the fact of me being brown lol

True. But, it will be a cold day in hell when I take that wing off. In my opinion thats what makes the car( look wise). There is no better feeling then looking out the rear view and seeing that sexy wing.
The brain is attracted to any shiny thing the eye sees. It is an automatic response built into all of us. The automakers know this, that is why they provide the paint jobs and chrome that come on new cars.
So, don't wash your car. Clean the interior so you can enjoy the car, wash the windows so you can see out and disappear.

It would help to know what you got pulled over for, but for me I've owned my evo for about 7 months now and have yet to get pulled over *knock on wood* my exhaust is loud, and my tint is definently not legal. Cops do ride my *** sometimes and when I seem them I shift around 2500rpms to be safe. I was speeding once but the cool cop just smiled and waved, and I drive a yellow evo with attracts a lot of attention.
For me I'm still a student, plans are to go into the medical field in the future.
I drive the speed limit 95% of the time, and I hot rod my car on occaionally.
My friend on the other hand owns a blacked out STi and is basically the opposite of me. Always speeds and hot rods the **** out of his car everywhere, but he has been pulled over twice, but got warnings and he's had it for over a year now

lol, I do the same thing shifting at lower RPM's around cops.
Bought my evo 2 days ago. Drove it on highway 5.5 hours to get home. The second I'm in city limits. DOING 1 MPH under the limit. I saw 3 different cops. All of which rode my ***! Didn't get pulled over.... Most cops in my town own nice muscle cars, (new camaros, new mustangs, new GTOs). But they are not friendly to tuner people like me.
