I've owned the Evo for four years, have 95xx miles, and have been pulled over four times. Received two warnings and two tickets.

I had my S2000 for a little less than three years, put on 20k miles, and have never been pulled over.

I took off the wing last month and haven't had any problems since. I passed a cop with my music audible from outside the car and a catless exhuast with no problems while before I would get a double take and a fix it ticket.

I feel that going wingless is a good way to take unwanted attention away from those who don't know much about Evo's and only think it's just a four door car with a big spoiler, yet it still keeps those who appreciate and admire Evo's and know what the car is without the wing.

I've started driving realllllllly slow in the evo... like I get passed by minivans constantly. Keep AT the speed limit and they'll stay away. It sucks... but it's what you gotta do in an evo

I see people driving around all crazy passing people in the rain doing 100+ on the freeway in trucks and they never get tickets... everyone I know speeds allll the time and never gets a ticket...

excepttt me!

Am I an average Evo owner that attracts cops myself? Or are these cars finding their way into the hearts and souls of our police force whenever the chance is given?

1) your driving
2) cops dont care about the car only the behaviour of the driver behind the wheel.
3) drive a cadillact DTS like a douche nozzle your gonna get pulled over just as much

I've had the Evo in operation for 10 months.
2 pullovers resulting in one ticket for 16 over in a 40
2 dramatically long follows 5+miles
At least 15 significant follows.

I have a spoiler but its the one from the regular lancer so not so big. I have a Megan TBE pretty loud on acceleration and stupid loud on WOT. Even with black soot all over the rear bumper between washes. I take it easy generally except when passing a Prius. My car is BBY which I think draws some extra attention.

Before I was driving a silver S4 it also had TBE but wasn't quite as loud. I only got pulled over once but it was for like 60 in a 35. (was glad he didn't catch me doing 85+ a few seconds earlier, a weak moment when a tiberon hammered on it from a light) very rare for me. Any way my only ticket in 4 years of ownership, I had 2 other pullovers. I'm 32 have wife kids and am a professional (wear tie to work). The Evo attracts attention plain and simple. Cops generally like me though because I'm always polite and keep my hands on the steering wheel and additionally because I have a concealed carry permit which to a cop says "this guy is a non criminal whom has gone thru background checks and checked out".

Most cops speed, even in there cruisers. Most cops expect people to go 5-10 over and don't care, it's mostly about how people drive. Drive like an *** and expect to be pulled over, act like an *** and expect to get a ticket, if you were speeding you deserve one. If the cop didn't give you one you should thank him.

Conclusion: Evo = more cop attention = greater risk of ticket = more bad attitude towards police whom are doing there jobs.

well when i first bought mine back in 05, i was about 21 years old. at that time in my life i was speed racer flying around trying to do some wild ****. mind you i came from an auto rsx... so that could also explain it. i used to get pulled over on a regular basis while driving the evo.

As of now im 28 years old and i guess with age you tend to tone down a great deal. i have my moments when im ready to just fly down the turnpike, but you will never catch me doing anything crazy... IMO Age of the driver is a big portion of getting pulled over in any sport car or sport compact. if your a teenager or a guy in your early 20s just be ready to see those flashing lights behind you lmao and im not stereotyping either im just saying when your a youngster you tend to do dumb things with a very fast car.

compared to other of my cars I drive like skyline or supra those get plenty of more attention from cops... evo is a 4 door and most of the time it blends in.

When I had my full exhuast fitted, coilcovers put on, aggressive wheels, etc... and started looking more like a race car I had a bit more cop attention but still not much compared to other cars.

Went wingless and the cops leave me alone... I drive rather slow because I have my daughter in the car most of the time, and just got tired of them stopping me on the way to work... Got really annoying to the point where I sent a letter to the city....

I'm 23, Military, and bought the evo because: I pretty much live out of my car so i need 4 doors, but I like performance vehicles, which left me with the sti or the evo, I went with evo because it handles better, is a little bit quicker, and overall is a lot more raw than the sti, the sti was a more comfortable ride, but with as much cash as i was putting into it, I would rather have performance than comfort.

I tend to drive 5-10 over the limit, but I'm always watching for cops and I slow to the limit when I see them, only been pulled over once and it was a warning, the cop said he knew i was going faster before he saw me and he wanted to remind me to slow down...i was going 65 in a 70 when he decided to tell me this

I say it depends on where you live and what the cops are actually looking for. Sometimes they just have nothing better to do than bother people. But I guess they are just doing there job for the most part.

The worst experience I ever have is one time I fill up my gas and on the ramp to highway in a small city in MI,, one police charger suddenly make a sharp turn from another road trying to follow me to the highway, I was accelrating too quick from the ramp to test my new tire, neally 90 MPH when approching the highway leave the charger for a long distance, I mush pissed the charger so bad he must make a call to others, Its night but I notice him so I slow down to 60 after one mile and then get pulled. Then there are three officiers comming up with 3 cars. They asked the ID of total 3 people in my car and asked us to come out to serch. But they still got no reason to give me a ticket because I slow down to 80 after getting on the highway. I left without a warning. The police asked me how could I be so fast on sharp ramp I said if u got 3000 bucks tires u can do that too.
My ride is 450 bhp X MR and I spend like15000 to get tuned and changing a big beautiful spoiler. I used to get very mad and upset for the whole day when pulled for nothing but as I got pulled like that for at least 10 times, I began to enjoy pissed the police off by not break the law...(as a foreigner, its a good way to practice my english when dealing with poilce...LOL)
