He didn't, it was stock. He just got it three days before i drove it. he just tossed the keys at me and I freaked out because they were Subaru keys and there was only one Subie he'd have bought...
For years there has always been a competition between subaru and mitsubishi........Out of all the comparison articles i have read on them ....everyone prefers the evo over the wrx, sti.
Dont matter....Regardless of how many times the subaru won the championship.....the Evo still kicks ***
Bye
Subaru!!

I don't see any kind of comparison here at all
The WRC cars have nothing in common with the road going versions other then the body shell...............
Now on the other hand, Group N cars are very much like the road cars that you buy at the dealer,
has been whipping subaru's rear-end for years in this class, just look at any FIA world rally round for group N you will see most of the top teams are running
not subaru.
I like both cars but
has the upper hand, this is the truth

They pick the EVO instead of the Impreza cuz the EVO is easier to work on, not everybody like boxer engine.

In the Best Motoring International #5 the STi Spec C beats the Evo VII RS w/ ACD and AYC in a head to head battle. But the Evo had the fastest lap time and the best time trial, so I would say that their pretty evenly matched on the track. As TOMMY B already pointed out, in Group N the Evo dominates.
BoxsterSTI, Well "cuz" where have you been the last few years ?? better go back and look at the facts not just last months mags......
The new subaru looks to be fast but thay still have not won any thing with it things should get tighter.
I'm just wondering just how many rally stages you have driven your self to give us all this good insite ?

I think the main points have been made.
- The current WRC cars are nothing like the road cars, even in small details (Subaru uses a front mount intercooler for example).
- Subaru won the championship before
was competing in the whole championship (They only did a few races each season).
- Mitsubishi has dominated group N for a long time (now they want to get rid of it and have 1600cc class
).
- The special STI's must be compared to the special Ralliart EVO's, the Extreme/Fighter or even the Extreme S (made by the former Ralliart UK) and then the EVO comes out on top in all the tests I've read.
- The new STI and EVO VIII can't be compared yet because they haven't been released (at least the EVO hasn't I don't know about the STI).
- From what I have read the EVO VIII will have 393NM @ 3000 or 3500 rpm (can't remember exactly) so it should also have a lot of low down torque (new STI 394NM @ 4400rpm acording to link at start).
Another thing is that when
released their ACD Subaru people said they didn't need a tricky differential but now their getting one anyway.

and they have to turbocharge them to get something out of them.Again, you may or may not like the way a Subaru Impreza STI looks, but it simply isnt as good a package. You dont have to take my word for it, go test drive an STI and an Evo when they become available in your country (like I did).
