Even with the less powerfull JDM STI and the JDM EVO with all the goodies, they still lap within a fraction of a second of eachother(STI Spec C fastest). Tires make the biggest difference in grip. The STI has smaller tires than the EVO and it's still putting down similar lateral acceleration in all these mag tests. Put bigger tires on the US STI to match the EVO and a smaller front sway bar or bigger rear and bye bye EVO.

The STi comes with Potenza RE070 tires. So does the new NSX Type R. Those are mighty sticky tires...

Oh thats funny, I m #1 and #3 for an STi spot in 2 dealers...
Anywayz, about that 600HP STi, thats a 2.0L, we are talkin about the potential of a 2.5L, once again, there is no replacement for displacment.

How many times do we (EVO owners) have to say the STI and EVO are both awesome cars. I think the "sensitive" area right now is that the press releases are not a slam dunk for the STI.
Anyway, the title of the tread was Motortrend's evaluation and they liked the EVO best.

I m glad that STi didn't come with a stereo, cuz now I have my own choose of stereo HU and speakers. And for race track people is even better that it didn't come with it.

You know dealer always have some BS cuz they don't want you to order from someone else. My dealer acutally told me to put down more deposit for it. No matter what dealer say, I should have my VIN # in 2 weeks, enjoy your EVO.

TaiwanEVO and BoxerSTI are acting like a couple of little kids. Guys you really need to grow up just a little
It's taking too much energy out of me to filter out the useful info from the low-blow personal attacks in this thread...
On another note...will somebody please scan the C/D & M/T articles?

I do not have a scanner but I did just receive my issue of Motor Trend and what they did wasn't a direct comparison test. They had the Evo in another test (they said it was on a stickier track according to the STI article). In the STI article they took the results from the other comparison test and slapped them next to their test numbers for the STI. The cars were not at the same track at the same time.
Now, on to something else. A question for some of the technical guys here! As far as 0-60 goes how much of a difference could an extra 30-40 bhp make on one type of car? .5 seconds or would it be less than that?

Automobile magazine STI v. EVO review (I'll take the scalpel please)
Just got my new Automobile today - -
STI a "paring knife"
EVO a "scalpel"
Right on automobile - I couldn't have compared my WRX to my EVO any better - I like the sharp precision of the EVO - there is nothing else like it short of a NSX
